What are we supposed to do?... Plant some money trees around our new training complex?

It is pretty simple really, we will pay higher wages as our turnover increases, just as we always have. The new TV contract will probably allow us to add around £15 million to our wage bill. This summer I think we are likely to see new bigger contracts for (as a minimum) Kane, Lloris, Eriksen, Vertonghen and Lamela. At a guess I would expect each of these players to be increased to weekly wages of somewhere around £100k, £60k, £70k, £60k & £60k respectively - that will eat up around £10 million in additional spend straight away.

As a result of this (plus any signings we make) Our wage bill will probably remain as being the 6th biggest wage bill in the Premier League, which will reflect the fact that our turnover will also be the 6th highest in the league. As we enter our new stadium we have the potential to immediately elevate our turnover somewhere close to (or even beyond) Liverpool and we can then operate a similar sized wage bill to them.

I don't see a single club who currently have a wage bill lower than ours surpassing our wage bill prior to us moving to our new stadium and once we get there I certainly don't see any of them doing so.
 
From what I have read Saudi Sportswashing Machine fans don't seem to have much good to say about Winaldums work rate - was a bit of a circus there last season though so always a chance it wouldn't be an issue here

I watched the customary Janssen YouTube last night that showed all of his goals last season (both for AZ and the Netherlands national team). Must've been about a dozen plus goals with his left foot, a dozen plus goals with his right foot and 6 or 7 headers. He seems to score all types of goals, poachers finishes from rebounds, first time shots, goals where he shifts it onto his right/left foot and then strikes it early and goals where he gets across/in front of the defender to get on the end of a cross. He also looks remarkably brave. A couple of his goals saw him going in to get the last touch when he knew he would be absolutely clattered, but he had that desire to score without worrying about injuring himself, there is also a header or two of similar ilk where he put his head into where the boots were flying.

From the goals it is clear that he has two good feet, the ability to find space and also work space for himself, he can shoot with little backlift, is confident in his shooting ability, has good body strength and also while not being fast he does seem to have that little bit of explosiveness that allows a forward to get that shooting opportunity. He looks similar to Kane in that he is physically equipped to play with his back to goal, he is shorter than Kane but looks a bit stockier and naturally stronger. It looks as though he likes to peel out wide to come back inside to get a shot away just as Kane does - however whereas Kane seems to prefer peeling out to the left, it looks (from his goals compilation) that Janssen prefers to peel out to the right (I guess explained by the fact that Kane is right footed and Janssen left - so both of them peel out wide to then cut back in on their stronger foot). Just like Kane, Janssen also seems to hit a lot of shots across the keeper, low into the corners. He is also a confident penalty taker and varied his pens to either side of the keeper, down the middle and also sometimes low sometimes high.

Where Janssen is slightly different to Kane is that he seems to want to be right up front, he also gambles to get across/in front of the defender when a teammate gets into a good position out wide, whereas I think Kane tends to hang back when this situation occurs more akin to a typical number 10. IMO as well as being about as good a Kane understudy as we could get, Janssen also looks like he would compliment Kane quite well if we decided to go two up front (either in a 4-4-2 type formation or with Kane withdrawn into the number 10 role in our current system).

From the goals video I see no reason why the player would not be successful in English football, in fact it looks like he is tailor made for English football.

Interesting especially the bolded bit, i have said on here that i would like to see Kane in the number 10 role behind a striker, i really do believe he would be a better player coming from there.

When Kane signs his new contract he will be the highest paid player in our history. The fact is we are increasing our wage bill but with a capacity of less than 36000 and financing a brand new 61000 stadium we need to be prudent.

I actually wanted us to sign Michy Batshuayi but what has he done to demand £100K a week? I might not like all of Daniel Levy's decisions but he has done enough to show me that he has the best interest of our great club at heart.

Would this not stifle Alli though? Him and Kane had a great partnership last season and dropping Kane deep could affect that.

Having watched a few of our goals on the "Assist of the season" thread, it has been a welcome reminder of what Alli can do when given space to run beyond the defence. We had no hope of seeing that at the Euros against 4 teams that set up so goddamn deep defensively.

I do not think so to be honest, Alii is young and good enough to broaden his game and they will find a way to make it work. I just believe Kane would be better not leading the line as he likes to drop deep and he can also run with the ball.

Not debt that is incurred as a result of improving the club's infrastructure. Effectively FFP considers the clubs turnover and it's outgoings against that turnover. 'Debt' isn't a problem per-se.... The problem is when a club has multiple years of sustained losses (I can't remember what the allowed cap on those losses are however, think it might be a maximum of £17 million as long as it is trending down?). We could carry £1 billion or more of debt but if (for example) we had an annual turnover of £200 million and outgoings (including loan/interest payments) lower or equal to £200 million (or even up to a specific amount over £200 million) then we would not fall foul of FFP.
