No it wouldn't. It's not about having the extra cash, it's about not giving the impression we'll pay any price the selling club wants a la City, United, etc.
 
Poch must be fuming at not getting Janssen in from the start of pre season especially considering he wasnt involved in the euros

Also Janssen himself looks like he needs a full Poch pre season workout. He is carrying a bit of timber. But like Kev Wimmer when he arrived. Chubby lads

I suspect Poch is intelligent enough to understand that there's more to transfers than "Me want new shiny, pay twice the price for new shiny"

Also im sure if Poch is as intelligent as you say then he can see that in a market where Jordan Ibe is being bought for 15 mill, Wijnaldum is valued at 25 mill, Benteke 30 mill, Batshuayi 35 mill, a striker like Janssen available to buy at 17 mill is just about fair value. I really don't think even Poch thinks he would be paying twice what the player is worth.

Where can you find an international striker for 8.5 mill? Also one willing to accept 30k a week and play second fiddle to Kane

I neither know own nor care what he's worth.

The point I was making is that it's incredibly unlikely that Poch will throw his toys out of the pram because Levy isn't buying the player you want in the timescale you want him to.

I couldn't give care less when the club buys the players, I don't have a timescale. I was just speculating on Pochs state of mind considering how much he values pre season torture for his players.

But he's already got 24 of his 25 man squad in place (except for the dozen or so who are on post-Euro holidays for another couple of weeks). It's not like there's big gaps - we're talking about a back-up CF.

I'm pretty sure we can all now name the starting line-up for the first match (subject to injuries)
