Vinai Venkatesham - CEO

Hence my other ongoing argument that this ownership needs to spend (Frank and Ange were given money btw, I don't understand how some posters think we should give RDZ less).

Less players, but not necessarily less budget.

We really need to start operating in a quality over quantity model. I want to see RDZ work with most of this squad and get a few newbies in, including from the younger section. I've never found a good argument why Spurs consistently buy 6 or 7 players every summer. It keeps us average.

This is rich coming from you considering all the excuses you made and continue to make about the terrible football we played under Ange. 🤣

Either accept that there can be mitigation for the quality of the football and the results or be like me and accept no excuses. You can't decide to makes excuses for one guy and not the other. That's hypocrisy.

You love the 'h' word. You should listen to this excellent podcast.

*Sigh* we know RDZ is a better coach. But I'm absolutely sure, even under him, results would have reverted to the mean eventually. And we will be in a similar position next season if we do not strengthen and get to grips with our injuries.

What ever the metrics say, the eye test said to me that the Leeds performance was very similar to the Sunderland one earlier in the season. I think the most decisive changes from RDZ was to bring in Kinsky in goal and super Kev as well as turning the negativity on its head. Kinsky saved a point Vs Leeds and 2 Vs Everton. Had he not done so, we would have been relegated. And yes Frank could have favoured those 2 as well but Ange hadn't before. And although Frank fell into cycle of negativity that eventually consumed him, there were mitigations too, I mean the loss to injuries of forward players such as Odobert ( just when he was starting to come good), Kudus, (who had been playing well), added to Maddison not playing, Kulu not playing and Solanke barely playing.

We were still not great up front in those final games even though we played on the front foot. I mean Palhinha scored to give us 2 wins from Set pieces, similar to what he did under Frank. And this is written by someone who has been and is a big of De Zerbi.

I know you're out of this discussion mate, but never forget, Thomas Frank talked us DOWN, extolled how average we were, and told us we were not 'really' a CL club, having said that not taking risks is a risk, he went on to not take risks. Unforgiveable.

This is just flim flam for which there is no actual evidence to back up. I cant analyse things where evidence doesn't exist. The facts are that both seasons were blighted by injuries. This season though the competition to remain in the PL was a lot stronger than last.

I am out of this discussion.

...when it comes to behaviour analysis you're then leaving yourself in a tight spot IMO...

Frank inherited a mess, would have been great if he could have turned it around in 6 months, in-fact it would have been a miracle.

His face (or more accurately) his style of football didn't fit, there is a tremendous arrogance about this belief, like we Spurs are in someway special, we are not.

I also find it hilarious and hypocritical that most of the attack is coming from people who defend the amateur who had two years in the role prior, that's the man that destroyed the squad, that's the man that turned us into relegation candidates, that's the man who deserves ridicule and disrespect, undoubtedly the worst manager the PL has ever seen.

Press conferences are a pr event and as such should focus on positives, no company would allow their front man to stand up in public and speak as he did and it did nothing for the players self confidence.

When Steve Jobs came back to Apple he did exactly that, went on stage, said Apple didn't need to compete with Microsoft and that he was going to screw developers for a couple of years because the platform needed a huge overhaul. Look where Apple is now.

You can't fix a problem if you deny it exists.

People don't seemingly want to face up to truths about Spurs at times. Everyone thinks its just a click of the manager fingers and its sorted. The issues that existed before exist still, you have to hope RDZ gets the players he needs or he will soon be in pressers telling truths himself

Exactly.

As much as people will it to be true, there just isn't that much difference between what we saw under all 3 manager this season, the change was in player availability and strength of schedule.

West Ham's reversion to mean did as much to keep us up as RDZ. Hopefully he gets to add the players he needs over the summer.

So you're happy with a manager telling everyone it's not his fault the players aren't very good and the customer shouldn't expect much. That's not what Steve Jobs did. I'm not sure as there's so many half truths, b******* and lies about interviews but I think he was supposed to have said he can work with what he's got.
Whether you believe it or not the recent statements have acknowledged the club need to improve to reach where we want to be.

Yes I was happy with Frank being honest in his assessment, I don't want BS from a manger and talk of attacking football and the Tottenham way, because that brick doesn't work, 2 tiles in 140 years prove it.

I want pragmatism and realism, I don't need smoke blown up my arse and to be told I'm a special little soldier.

Give it to me straight, like a pear cider made with 100% pears.
