IMO, this is the sort of blatant mistake that VAR should be used to correct. From looking at one replay it's clear to everyone, even the most biased supporters of the team affected, that the decision was wrong. These types of errors are thankfully infrequent. My fear is that in the PL next season VAR will be used to scrutinise marginal incidents in a time consuming manner and result in final decisions that are still widely disputed.
I agree.
It will go through many revisions and tweaks over the coming years. It will though stop injustices like at Cardiff and that's a salient starting point.
