UEFA Women's EURO

Are we not going to talk about England absolutely destroying Norway last night? :p I had forgotten the game, turned it on and it was 2-0, and it felt like 15 mins later it was 6-0! Jesus. This Norwegian team is full of talent, lots of players from top teams around Europe that have won the Champions League, then they just collapse like that. Insane. England could've scored another 8! Crazy. This is the sort of result you'd expect to see maybe 20 years ago, when there were a lot of amateurs in women's football, but not today. A truly remarkable collapse.

The Norwegian (well, he's Swedish) coach is getting a lot of stick this morning. I doubt he'll survive this. Well played, England, though - lots of good players in the team.

I watched it with my girls last night (aged 9 & 11). My 9 year old is football crazy and she was more interested in this game than any 'mens' game including Spurs that we've watched together. It was a great performance with some top finishing (and dodgy defending), if it inspires my daughter to want to play more and dream of being an England player herself then great. Even the wife wanted to watch!

Love to hear it! Women's football haven't exactly been a big deal over here, but we've traditionally been much better with the women than with the men (won the world cup a couple of times in the 90's and such), but you know having people to look up to like that means so much for young girls.

Norway were lucky enough to have a half decent league (relative to the overall quality of women's football at the time) in the early days of the sport, but as the big nations start pouring more resources into it those days are all but over. Time to move on to the next up and coming women's sport. Can't believe we haven't done more with ice hockey. Might have a chance of staying a part of the elite there.

We have a few very very overrated players in Hegeberg, Graham and Reiten. Never seen any of them preform and look really good against good teams. Flat track bullies. The rest of the team is dross! CB's are shocking, full backs are nowhere near good enough and the midfield are just running around chasing shadows.
Hegeberg is the most overrated player in woman's football history! How she's won the ballon'dor is beyond me. Haven't seen her dominate a single game, or do anything spectacular. She scores some goals vs brick teams and is otherwise invisible.

I'm in the same boat, but then again, I've only seen her play maybe 10 times at max. She's a goal poacher, but does very little with the ball at her feet. No idea how she won the Baloon'dor. :p

I’d be giving Lloris brick for conceding that. Very similar to the one he let in from Ronaldo last season. Poor footwork.

I may be being harsh but why are they celebrating so hard to get into a semi final? I know it may be a first time or something but i thought England were one of the best teams in the world? Surely over celebrating just screams “small team” mentality?

4th semi in a row they said.. does seem a bit over the top, although maybe they realise Spain were the biggest threat, who knows
