Yes, the comment about adjusting what we pay academy prospects could make a big difference

As someone (you?) described Levy earlier - penny wise, pound foolish.

I’ve no idea what we’d give an up and coming 16 year old but even if it was low six figures for the best ones it’s a limited cost compared to what an even vaguely passable player is worth

I understood that was at least part of the reason Levy brought him in, to develop the youth side as well.

Paratici was a huge breath of fresh air at the club. The club was pretty much completely rudderless for everything outside of the first team before he came in. It is scandalous that it had to become completely broken before it got addressed, that has cost the club a lot of money and will now cost time for the changes to reap benefit.

Given he's supposedly working for us in an unofficial capacity now, that hopefully wont derail too much. Odd as well, because the club historically got everything right behind the scenes apart from the first team - we had youngsters galore coming through and being semi successful then sold - Walker Peters is probably the most recent of these but I could list a fair number....
