Overall, you have to be happy with the activity, but very concerned at glaring holes left potentially at right-back and in terms of overall physicality.

So continuing the ~150m net transfer spend then, just obviously far more active though. I wonder if that’s a one off clearing the decks and rebuild for a new manager or if we’ll see this as the longer term plan, Chelsea style.

I don't think it's possible for us to co continue that level of activity.
I think it was more of a case of honouring promises made to De Zerbi when he took over, as we were desperate he could hold us to ransom so to speak.
Fingers crossed it works, but it was refreshing to get some big money deals done very early on and decisively.

The obvious cycle would be as the team become more refined ...you need to buy less (bit like the goons)....the caveat being if all goes well?

Lost the will to care the last few days with the amount of rumours going around and the scattergun approach we seemingly took. That's not really a cut at the club, they were doing their job - it's just the scrutiny and coverage it gets is a bit much.
Thankfully, we now know what we have and can just plough on and hopefully start picking up points.

Go back 30-40 years it's amazing to think of now, and the associated industry built all around the transfers of football players. Insane.
