Must admit, I don’t want Akanji

We’re supposed to be competing with City, not buying their unwanted thirty-somethings

Our scouts need to be spotting the next Akanji. He was a steal for them and has been fantastic for few seasons. He wasn’t young when they bought him either.
In an ideal world , but he is here for the here and now

A 10 month loan perhaps makes sense. But we'd don't want to end up struggling to sell him next summer when Dragusin and our 4 young CBs are all back.
You are going on like he won’t have any resale value. Or that our young CBs will be ready to be called upon

He's on £180k a week. A 31 year old on that type of wages doesn't really have much sell on value unless they are stars. Especially a defender.
Well we both know he won’t be on that at either spurs or AC Milan. If he has an appetite to come to us and takes a pay cut then so be it. Resale value won’t be the same but he is experienced and can teach our younger players a thing or two.

Saudis are always in for decent players but again it won’t be a massive loss at £15mil

We've never sold a player to Saudi and never will. Until or unless they own us as well anyway.
