This is a dead horse, but Aarons is no where close to being better than Aurier
But Aarons is significantly younger, one of them signings that we will regret not signing.

Mate, it's not the club, it's the strikers
- Agents have outright said for years, no good striker wants to come to Spurs because they won't get enough playing time.
I know, I know - I just find the whole notion absurd, if you pay them, they will come surely?
It has led to us running the bloke into the ground and for two of the three finals he's played in for us, he's been barely 70% fit.
this season for me is prime of how we fudge it up
- Vinicius should have had more game time, not only subbing for Kane, but taking Son off (especially in some of his "off spells") and in more cup games.
- Big reason backup strikers don't work is we play like they are Kane (Vini and Soldado as examples were poachers, Llorente good in the air, etc. etc.), we never adapt for them.
Until we manage that, those strikers are right to stay away.
I've edited my post to add in the current ages of those players.I dont know some of the name above, but we need to go back to signing players who are 24 and under and grow a team. FOr the Kane money, we could get 3 darn good players who are semi proven in a big league and of that profile
No established top striker would.... Plenty of up and coming strikers would however. Bringing in Toney from Peterborough back when we were strikerless would've been the easiest deal ever. Even if we'd just used him for 6 months we could still have sold him to a championship club and lost very little (if anything) on the deal.Mate, it's not the club, it's the strikers

Matty Cash and Jayden Bogle are of similar quality to Aarons. Cash cost Villa £16m. Bogle cost Derby £11m. Aarons has a lot of hype around him and is a decent player. He's by no means a superstar though (and I think I was the first person on here to big up Aarons back when Norwich were in the Championship chasing their promotion before this one). But Aarons is significantly younger, one of them signings that we will regret not signing.
That again highlights how poor our recruitment structure is. What's the point of having a backup striker that cannot be integrated into the team playing the same way. Contrasting the way we operate with the way Campos operated at Lille is like comparing amateur football to professional football.this season for me is prime of how we fudge it up

There are a number of players who play in a similar way to Kane. You're not going to get a player as good to replace them, but you at least have somebody who plays in the same style so you don't need to alter the entire team's tactics. Again, a brilliant DoF will have potential players that fit the style. Meanwhile we have Laurel and Hardy.... Oops I meant Levy and HitchenBecause nobody plays like Kane outside of Lewandowski?
You are being too 1+1 here, certain players = Modric, Eriksen, Dembele, Kane are very difficult to have replacement/rotations for.
And why wouldn't you a plan B option type?

A two footed striker with good strength, movement, amazing passing range, ability to score from range, can play as provider or poacher? The guy is a combination of Sheringham & Shearer and for the life of me, I can't think of a similar player in the PL right now, plus willing to play back up role while being available for a price Spurs can afford?
Not arguing if a better scout could do better, but I think the striker situation is pretty unique (if you are looking like for like, which btw, I don't particularly agree with)
At our peak under poch we had three unique players, Dembele, Eriksen and Kane.
We can't replace them like for like, we need different players with different skill sets in a different system.
Some seem to struggle with that concept.

He's KWP all over again. He's talented, but just not big enough to make a top EPL fullback. He'll constantly be targetedMy thoughts as well, just turned 21 and played a full season in the Prem already. He can also play as a LB as well. should be top of the list for me this summer.
Targeted in what way? He's KWP all over again. He's talented, but just not big enough to make a top EPL fullback. He'll constantly be targeted
Bogle is just as good, much more physical, and will be less than half the price
