Transfer fred.

Thinking of defenders we could get here who would improve us. But also have the clamy attitude we need.

I'd say

- Romero, Davies & Lenglet (last two just being numbers)
- Big chunk of the budget on a top tier CB
- Look for a veteran/journeyman as a holdover for a year or two as other option (someone good in air, with leadership qualities)

Top tier is the usual names, and who we can actually get (convince to join the circus)

The veteran is the interesting question

GHod I hate Dier. Agree with everything else you wrote.

Used to really like him in Poch's team as a midfielder who dropped into the back 4 to help out but as a CB he has gone so far backwards I don't rate him at all now.
Can't believe he's getting a new 3 year deal along with Lenglet being made permanent. Where's the sense in that? What if the new manager doesn't want either in their side?

Lenglet makes sense, for £14M, can play LCB, he's still in first season, likely to improve, and with us probably needing 2 or 3 new CB's, can see it.

Dier? I don't see any other play than asset protection, at his age there is nothing we don't know about him and it's not good enough.

I understand the theory of asset protection but what are we actually protecting because he is awful.

Him, Mitoma, March, and Ferguson can cause a lot of grief to opposition defenses. And all very young (bar March).

They will get one contract out of Ferguson and if he trends on a curve like we think he will be off. I like what Brighton do alot but they will also become fodder for players leaving

I know they have probably made a decent sum from selling over the last few windows but both MacAllister and Caicedo want out this summer, Gonna be tough for them to keep finding gems in CM.

They are my local team and I wish them well. But some around Brighton are getting to excited, how often does it happen that clubs do well for a few years and think that it will always continue, think Southampton, Leicester.

Brighton need Emirates Marketing Project, Chelsea and now Necastle all doped to fail. Then clubs with big revenues like Man u, Liverpool, Arsenal and Spurs to all be in a period of flux or transition.

Well that's not a problem
