***TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR vs Brentford OMT***

He's been poor for a while now, used to be really direct and run at people. Seems to have lost confidence.

Yeah bit of a weird one. I swear he used to go outside much more, keeping the defender in his toes. Did it once today and it was really effective. But almost always seems to cut inside now.

Decent. All a bit narrow and Kulu really looked lost in the second half -- not sure why Solomon didn't come on for him.

The first 25 minutes of the second half we were absolutely dominant and you could see one of Ange's big points. Keep the ball, keep it moving and the opposition will tire. Shame we didn't have more up front. Think we'll be after a clinical striker before the window closes.

Thought Micky did well having only been at the club for a few days! Vicario overall solid, 2 dodgy moments: the parry, which fell to Damsgaard for a weak attempt and charging off his line towards the end. But I think he'll suit the system well.
.
Gotta be, I like Richy but always thr Everton player off the left where he can also get stuck in.

But yeh, we need to go out and get an instinctive striker, you can't be taking that many touches I front of goal and not expect to be shut out

I'm not sure if that's the issue for Kulu, more so that people know his game now - he almost always cuts inside and is very left footed, doesn't have blistering pace so now defenders can read him it's more difficult.

Anyway, real positives. Bissouma looks class, Maddison making difference in our attack, Udogie looks quality and I thought VDV looks pretty smooth on the ball and comfortable (will deliberately ignore the deflection for their goal)

Like others say work to do in attack still, but we scored 2 goals with the irreplaceable Kane in the team away to Brentford last season so it's not all doom and gloom. A point away to Brentford is certainly not to be sniffed at....

Front three probably the worse performing players on the pitch - best players have all been mentioned but i think Sanchez deserves a nod as he was solid

Agreed - excellent from him, and interesting to see him ahead of Dier and Davies. Can’t see him wanting to stay though as 3rd/4th choice.

Ange needs to give Son and Kulu permission yo cut in and shoot. Looks like we are trying to play too many intricate passes into the box which is silly seeing as how deep and compact Brentford is set up.

Kulusevski looks a bit predictable. When he first came you never knew what came next, shot, pass, carry inside or outside. Now he usually runs to the byline and squares it out. Maybe he's been found out, or as you say, has a confidence issue.

Not meant as a slight against Son but nice to see him taken off when he was having an off day. Deki a little predictable or possibly just seems to be thinking of keeping hold of the ball first and foremost. Think Porro should have got a run out there to get more service in to Richy....

Destiny was class, my first time watching him, you wouldn't think he was a 20 y o making his first start in a new league.

Shout out to Sanchez as well, he did let one ball drop that we could have conceded from but he was pretty strong and even composed on the ball. VDV looked solid too and Maddison + Bissouma although in different areas of the pitch both oozed class.

Does look like the end for PEH if Sarr is ahead of him in the pecking order.

Looked pretty controlled in the second half, a promising start.

Looked exactly like what we are - a team in transition but played some good stuff. Not sure the press was too effective first half, some big gaps but much better in the 2nd half. Early days but don't think Richarlison will be as clinical as we need.

Udogie looks like an absolute monster. Tall, quick, strong with decent touch and awareness.

Maddison really good as well and Bissouma MOM, he'll be like a new signing if he can keep it up.

I think wherever he goes will be a step down, if it's a step down in wages also then every chance he could settle for that sort of role.

Richarlison has work rate, is decent techically and obviously has heart. He will score a few, perhaps even a couple of good ones. But as it stands he's very, very upgradable.

The things that need upgrading are his confidence. Was always going to be pressured game for whoever played CF today. Same applies for Son. Too much pressure on them both. The other thing Richarlison needs to do is always be ready. He's too often on the back foot. Maddison too, he could have scored if he'd been ready to shoot first time. Small criticisms but the difference between 1 and 3 points.

I'd like to see Kulu on the left. Maybe Kulu - Son - Solomon.

What a mad game. New players all looking good even though Vicario gave me a few moments of anxiety. But just waiting for all the pundits to say we lack a cutting edge now Kane has gone. Pretty much fully in control in the second half. And the subs Brentford made were to ensure they did not lose rather than trying to win at home. Mind you there will not be many teams getting a result there, I think a lot of people underrate them

What a difference a couple of months makes.

We looked strong at fullback (!) on both flanks, powerful and intricate in centre midfield (without Sarr or Bentancur) and passionate in all areas. Some players are going to need time and I'm not sure Sonny found today easy with the new responsibility.

Overall though we forced Brentford back time and again where previously we sat back and invited them on. It's easier to win with moderate defenders if you've got the ball. Amazing Conte never realised this.

Don't think Kulu was awful. He is creative and was looking to progress the ball. Better than Son.
Today that's not exactly a badge of honour, though it has to be said that Son wasn't that poor. But he has really lost pace and explosiveness, does the same flicks and doesn't shoot from the edge of the box as much. Without that, he's a bit ordinary to be honest.
