*** Tottenham Hotspur v Woolwich *** OMT

Our fitness coaching and conditioning appears to be amongst the best in the league these days. We had eight days off before this run of three in six with the international break afterwards. I am sure that we will have done work to get the players to peak at the same time to get us through this run.

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino wary of refreshed Arsenal in derby

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino feels Arsenal have the advantage of some extra rest ahead of Sunday's north London derby.

The clash at the Emirates will be Spurs' third game in seven days after they recorded consecutive wins over Aston Villa on Monday and then Anderlecht on
Thursday in the Europa League.

Both matches went the distance as Harry Kane scored late to end Villa's second-half comeback before Mousa Dembele sank the Belgians with a goal three minutes from time

Arsenal were also in Champions League action on Wednesday as they were hammered 5-1 at Bayern Munich but, returning to London on Thursday morning, Arsene Wenger's men have enjoyed an extra day's recovery ahead of this weekend's crunch meeting.

"I don't want to put out the idea they have an advantage in the game," Pochettino said.

"But it is true when you play against Anderlecht in the Europa League, it is very difficult to play Thursday and Sunday.

"Then when you play Monday against a very motivated team like Aston Villa and you need to run and suffer a lot, it is one day less to recover. You are always late to prepare for the game.

"We are a young squad and sometimes we run a lot and sometimes the effort we make is a lot. But I am not complaining.

"It is not an excuse. We are very strong in our mind and the way we showed character on Thursday and Monday showed we are ready to try 100 per cent to win the game."

Spurs, unbeaten in 10 league games, are currently five points behind second-placed Arsenal in the table and Sunday is an opportunity for both sides to lay down a marker.

"The derby is always a different game," Pochettino said. "You need to play with your heart and passion. I know what it means to our supporters.

"It's not important the past, it's how you take the game and we arrive in very good form.

"We have to be ready and be strong in our mind and try to win the game because we know what the derby means."

Top man!

All I've seen and read today from pundits and bookies is that we're going to lose, I saw 2 bookies going for 4-0 Arsenal !!

Seriously wtf, I fancy our chances tomorrow, its an NLD adrenalin will get us through the tiredness plus the fact they have 8 or 9 injuries whereas we don't

2-1 Spurs

Once again they have a huge advantage, two days additional rest, recovery and prep time. It stinks. Especially as Anderlecht came at us so energetically, we had to dig so deep. We will have some jaded legs out there on Sunday when all else being equal one of our key advantages is superior fittest and energy.

Flip side is, that 5-1 drubbing by Bayern may have sunk deep into their psyche, whereas at least we're coming off the back of a victory born of fight and resolve as much as superior talent.

I can see a draw, hardly dare hope for more. But if we CAN do it, whhoooooooooooooo!!!

COYS.

Getting the excuses in early I see.

Please can we not act like spoiled brats on Sunday. Rarely are officials SO awful that they completely turn a game. Most decisions we complain about we'd see completely differently the other way around

We have enough ability that the game is 50/50. I really don't see them as much better than us. Poch is doing an amazing job

Wash your mouth out ;) you know that the ref is always to blame if/when we lose. Some fans always have to blame someone.

Looking at the low goal count today I predict that there will be a lot of goals tomorrow and I'll go for a 4-4

With the Goons seriously weakened down their right flank I would seriously consider starting with the pace and skill of Son down our left

I think we need to attack their flanks. We need to remain solid in the centre and use pace and trickery on the wings, that is the best way to attack them. Plus get a midfield runner to occupy Koscielny, so that Kane can have fun against Mertesacker.

Which winning team - the Villa one or the Anderlecht one?!

Alli is exhausted. He's gone off a cliff the last two matches. He needs resting for the sake of his long term development.
Villa. And I sort of agree about Alli, not just the past two games, but not yet. Imagine dumping him for Mason and we get battered.

fudge! I'm so nervous for this game! Can't say I have a good feeling about it. + I have an exam to finish this week, and if we lose I'm not gonna be able to do anything for days! So basically I'm fudged. Unless we trash them of course.

the two most in form teams in the league,we have such a bad record there but this young team won't know that : 2-2

I agree that changing Alli for Mason seems like a decent plan. But let's not get ahead of ourselves. His long term development can be managed just fine even if he starts today. A part of the inconsistency expected with young players is that they can have one off games and return to form quickly.

Y'all have more hope than me. I am kinda dreading tomorrow.

Always more nervous than excited before the NLD I think...

Nope. Trashing them means hours and days spent in a haze of happiness unable to focus on anything else ;)
