Tottenham Hotspur V Aston Villa

Did Harry not choose to get Saha and Nielsen? Both agented by his mate.

Did Poch not refuse multiple players offered to him. Then get his two first choices in the summer of 2019.
No Harry didn't want those two, he wanted however unrealistic it might have been Tevez and Cahill. Poch had years of getting substabd alternatives so maybe he got tired of that and just held on but he also wanted to sell Eriksen and Toby and the big boss man said no. If we had sold those two it could have helped the cash flow and reinvigorated the squad.

This is why all the talk of oligarchs misses me because I don't believe we need them to work the market better. What we actually need to do is to sell at opportune times and for good money. Instead I think due to ego decide that we won't let players move on unless the fees received are ridiculous at which point no one is interested and we don't get fresh blood into the squad. I would sell literally anyone if we can get good money for them and have a plan for their replacement.

Suarez I think?

Surely you're not going to complain about a poor January window when we were in a good position in light of your comments regarding Arsenals recent lack of action in Jan?

I'm a bit confused. I'm not complaining about this January window at all and as I'm gonna say once again I'm not blaming ENIC. Our problems are squarely at Ange's door for me.

Now if you're asking would I complain about the 2012 window? Then hell fudging yes, we had the opportunity to push on but of course ENIC and their lack of interest and fear meant that we did not push on at that time.

Yes that window - similar to Arsenal we failed to address some key issues in the Jan window when in a position of strength - for us it's a sign of lack of ambition, for them not?

Fwiw Cahil was already tapped up to join Chelsea on a bosman end of that season and Tevez was only available on a loan iirc and we already had Adebayor from City that season so a non starter

Not sure that tallies with Ange's use of subs last season. If he was assessing, it wasn't done so much on match days.

I'm not sure it makes much difference though. We saw very leggy Spurs teams after full weeks off last season. We also saw players finish the matches and then get training ground injuries.

I think Ange likes to get those player lungs hurting regularly to keep them in peak fitness. With that, there is an implied consequence of niggles and even injuries.

As for his trust issues, as I've said before he needs to cut that crap out. His contract is about working with what he's been given until we can change it between transfer windows. Injuries is an excuse. Not using fit and available players isn't.

Sorry, I did intend to reply but my brother turned up unexpectedly to sort out some dad stuff and he only left just before the game.
All seems a bit pointless now 😞.

Yeah, just got back from my day out including watching the game at my local. My old dad is a Spurs fan, originally from Enfield. Glad I didn't have him in my ear today as I was watching. It would have been doubly hard work. Hope your dad is doing fine.

Don't know about you, but I just feel numb after the week we've just had. Today's game in isolation would just be one of those bad days at the offices that clubs have. Then I watched the presser and within a minute Ange talks about Kinsky as a "21 year old". Funny that when he walked into the club and played a few blinders he wasn't labelled as a "21 year old". Now he's made a mistake and the manager needs a new narrative, he's labelled that way. Then Ange cleverly talks about Pool making 11 changes after they lost today. He wouldn't have even mentioned it if they had stuffed Plymouth.

Don't know about you, but my numbness is so fuelled from Ange's constant spin doctoring. It's just one narrative after another.

Personally, I'd rather have a football conversation with Ange about what happened in the 1st min. Why do we have a RB who is so advanced he can't influence their goal defensively? If this is his strategy, then why is there no available midfielder on the cover to drop into RB? Furthermore, why do we have Gray and Spence looking at each other and coordinating a perfect defensive line, whilst Danso is 5 yards behind the pair of them making it easy for their left winger, who scored, to be receiving that ball? I want to ask Ange WTF he actually does on the training ground. It was complete amateur hour. He can keep coming up with narratives but I demand to know what exactly is he doing with his players in training. Why is his methods so damn hard to adopt. Week after week, we talk about injuries and fatigue. Week after week we see systematic tactical errors brushed under the carpet because of the injury reason. I can compensate for it, but I don't buy it.

It's a train wreck at the moment under Ange. He needs to either step up to the plate, or just disappear.

I don't listen to the press conference, never have, win lose or draw.
Numb doesn't describe it, which considering how often we've been through it it is surprising really.
Feels all very like AVB to me, everyone knows it's coming just don't know when.
Not to make you feel bad or anything, but my brother was over discussing our dad's funeral arrangements, so yeah, not been a great day and I could really have done with spurs giving me a little boost today.

The squad may well be tired - so what do you do Ange just accept our fate? That sky post match presser was awful from someone who was more interested in providing excuses for their own inability to find solutions. I love the way he couched it in "Don't have a go at the players they are heroes." People aren't mate they are having a go at you. You're the manager who sets them up. This is purely reputation management from Ange.

If he has just accepted that players are tired and we cannot achieve anything else this season then that is as good a reason to get rid of him as any. Otherwise, we will just get bad result after bad result from here until the end of the season. Imagine telling everyone we are going to be too knackered to turn up against you.

A wiiiiide open midfield with no defensive clue all game. Wiiiiiide open.

Deki and Bergvall are pushed right up near the centre forward, so Bentancur decides to go and join them!!!
And just to put the icing on the cake, Porro was up the right wing trying to score!!!!!!
And just to put the cherry on the icing on the cake, that was after 30 seconds!!!!!!!!!
