looked awfully good for 30 minutes or so.

To be fair though we're not pressing them up the pitch enough. Think 'arry might have told them to sit deep and wait for a counter. Only problem is they're poo poo when pressed and thats arguably when we're at our best.

I would have Sandro on for Kranchie and VdV for Ade

its got to the with the personnel, against a fast playing team.

and arsenal looks like they've stepped up a gear for this game too.

the speed has worked against: niko clearly, but ade and parker are also under pressure and can't retain possession. and king has never looked slower.

will be interesting to see if redknapp will want to change things, and when.
 
They've had far to much space in midfield all half and we were flattered by being 2-0 up. Defending both as a unit and as individuals has been shocking and we need to change it up. We can still win this but we need to get hold of the game and take control.
 
We need attacking threats on both wings to pin them back. Lennon for Kranjcar. Sandro for Saha. And they are targeting Benny -so not so much straying infield from Bale.

I think what Harry will do though is put VDV on instead of Lennon and we wil have the same problems in the second half.
 
Wow. From ecstasy to despair in 4 minutes. Ah, well, such is the NLD. Van Persie was always going to curl that beyond Friedel, but what could you expect with both our central midfielders booked? They can't challenge for fear of a red, and on the wings, Kranjcar doesn't challenge and Bale's been rather lazy. I agree with most of the people on here, Sandro and Lennon on for Saha and Kranjcar.Slot Sandro in beside Parker and move Modric slightly higher, putting Lennon on the right. If we're still level, or down, on 60-65, bring on VdV for Parker. If not, there's not much need for change.
 
As soon as the penalty went in, Redknapp should have got Saha off and switched to 4-5-1. Now, he'll probably put that decision off again.

4-4-2 concedes possession in midfield to a team playing 3 CM. Its about looking at the bigger picture not small individual things. If we had more bodies in midfield we would keep the ball better and Arsenal would have less possession ergo less time to knock it around.

get Defoe on, this defence can be run ragged, and the two big guys just don't run for the ball.
 
What the fudge was that?! Walker has been an absolute shambles (not helped by Kranjcar) and BAE too. We're lucky we're not 5-0 down. Get Sandro on and we could still win this, their defence is brick.
 
What on GHod's earth was the point of Kranji? What did he contribute....Walker was running up and down that right flank as if we were 10 men on the field....
Has Lennon been there we would have been 4 goals instead of only 2....

4-4-2 won't work, when the midfield of the opposition fields the likes of Rosicky and Arteta going box to box anchored by Song.

FFS how much evidence do people need ? We haven't had Luka on the ball at all in the middle, he plays half the game on top of BAE, there is no space.

It's not Nikos fault. It's the formations fault.
 
Honestly believe the cards for Parker and Modric contributed to Arsenal's comeback. Both know that any sort of tackle could get them sent off and that'd be disastrous. Need someone in the middle with them now, Sandro the obvious choice. But can we bring on Lennon, VDV AND Sandro? Hmmm, not sure. I think it'll be one of VDV or Lennon.
 
If it stays 442 we will lose. Its no coincidence we conceded twice after both CMs got booked. We need another defender and catch em on the break
