Looks lovely except for that monstrouserty of a building on the left. I'd get rid of that.

Ha!

Might well get your (tongue in cheek) wish.

KSS are off the job. More than likely, IMO, that this will not be the final design - even if the official line currently is that Populous are only working on minor interior alterations.

I did a search of Populus football stadium designs and found this. Looks like a metal caterpillar and then you have to play outside :-k

Hopefully Populous go with something rather more like their proposed design for Anderlecht' stadium...

Re: Northumberland Development Project - Archway On Fire

Ah yes I remember that. Beautiful. I'll settle for that.

Love the outdoor bar areas around the side. Really hope the original design is uplifted. Its so dated already. With a fresh iconic stadium we could genuinely leap frog our - not so noisy - neighbours. A rse will always be more central, but we could instantly put them in the shadows if the stadium has some style. emerates is not a great stadium and never will be. Ours hopefully will be...

I honestly thought it looked slightly dated when the designs were first initially released, and that was over 5 years ago now.

This is friend of a friend stuff and I have posted it before, so take it or leave it. A friend of mine met someone who works at Populous at a party last year. He was told that the redesigns were more substantial than that and the club wanted something more distinctive than a generic bowl with a kop end.

I agree, it's an early 00's design by all accounts. Give us the Anderlecht design, please [-o<

Re: Northumberland Development Project - Archway On Fire

I agree, the old design is very 'meh' now.

I want us to have an iconic stadium that EVERYONE in the world knows immediately is Spurs.

For example, cover the exterior in scales like this:

Would work great with a design like this:

Cheers for the photos.

I also had a look today (from the same vantage point and from Paxton Road and the High Road). I actually think there has been a fair bit more work done over the past couple of weeks. Very little of the site still to be dug. Only a few buildings along Paxton Road (including Archway, of course) plus the site entrance / exit roads remain intact. Obviously still a lot of piles of rubble / earth to be cleared or moved.

I don't know how much more can be done before the High Court decision. But what's certain is that, the club have given themselves a good head start and, once they're given the green light, should be able to make rapid progress on construction.

With a fair wind behind, a target completion date of August 2017 is not yet out of the question.

Re: Northumberland Development Project - Archway On Fire

I suppose a big question is what the High Court do. I'm not sure, but my impression is they can do anything from rejecting the appeal out of hand and setting an evidential hearing month away.

It is an appeal against the CPO decision, so my understanding is that they need to demonstrate that the CPO was not handled correctly.

Yeah. They are only allowed to appeal the process, not the decision. They have to show that Pickles' process was improper.

I understand that, but the Court can still reject out-of-hand or ask them to come back to make a more complete case later. The latter only requires the judge to decide there is possibly a problem with the process. It would be nice if this was all decided in that hearing, but I don't think it is necessarily the case.

OK. I am not certain on how the appeal hearing operates.
