Spur of the moment

Anywhere but to the Arseholes. Could not stomach him helping that dogbrick win a trophy. This is a horrible scenario I hadn’t thought of!

I can see Liverpool coming in for him the minute the £25m clause activates. He'd be an upgrade on Lovren, what they'd offer him compared to us would be no reason for him to think twice on that front, and they probably wouldn't find it difficult to convince him he'd stand a better chance of honours with them either (which I believe is an important consideration for him), especially if they win it this year. Man U might not be able to be so persuasive there.
Forgive me if I’m being really thick but can the club still offer him a new contract or do they have to wait until the end of the season? Can’t see why we wouldn’t be doing everything possible to keep him. Poch and Levy have got to be fully aware there’s a high chance he goes to a PL rival if we can’t keep him which will be a double blow. Bayern constantly raid Dortmund’s best players not only to strengthen themselves but to hurt BVB
Godin is leaving Atletico at the end of this season, wouldnt be surprised if Toby ended up going back there.

We could offer him a new contract here at any time and he could sign it if he wanted to, but I believe he feels he'll stand a better chance of honours (as well as greater remuneration) elsewhere, which is why he's stalling. He'll wait and see what turns up in the summer, I think, and I still make Liverpool favourites over United for his signature, with City an outside bet. Man U might need him more, but I think he'll be put off by their relative instability (plus the Pochettino links, which are bound to intensify again in the summer, might make things a bit awkward). I'd be very disappointed if he'd consider Cheatski or Arse, but then I've been disappointed before. Whether or not another gig abroad would suit him better, I don't know; depends how settled he and his family are here, I suppose.
So is Inter the new retirement home?
We definitely can offer him a new deal, and I'm actually more optimistic than most on here that he could stay:
- I think there's a decent chance that Liverpool will want to stick with their VVD-Gomes pairing, so a move there would depend on whether TA wants to be first choice
- Not sure he'd be first choice at Man C either. Regardless of what we think of them, they seem to be happy with Stones, Laporte, Otamendi, Kompany etc
- Would he go to Arse or cheatski?
Man U, PSG, Spanish clubs - most likely destinations in my view. Is he a big enough name for Barca and Real to want him?
I think its 50/50 whether he'll be here next season
Can’t see him going to Arse or Chelsea.
I wouldn’t be surprised if he rocked up at arse or ChelseaNot so sure.
Just a job for Toby, that’s fine because he’s always given his best at his clubs.
But he is a gun for hire!
