thats because he's mainly played in midfield, we've turned him into Tom Huddlestone

as good as Toby has been, part of it is the coaching and the system, there is a reason we signed him so easily when we did, he's done as well out of it as we have

I disagree. Toby has been an integral part of the best/2nd best defence in the league for last 8 years or so for every team he has played for. Many of those years weren’t under Poch.

The stats from this season would indicate otherwise. We have the third best defensive record in the league.

not sure if its the point GS was making, but, Wanyama was cheap because he was on a short contract and nobody else wanted him, Sissoko wasn't as he had a few years left and interest/offers from other clubs

also, look at our entire defensive unit, built with players signed at value without having to fight off bigger clubs, they have all improved and increased their value, we are good at this

We have not looked anywhere near as solid with Toby missing unfortunately, having a potentially top defender in Sanchez doesnt hide he is a long way off filling his boots....
