Thomas Frank - Head Coach

He has now
He hadn’t when we signed him and I don’t think the data is right
I’ve seen him for years at Everton and Watford too and he was not a striker at either club except in emergencies at Everton
Yup I don't care what's transfermarkt claims. Richy was LW first for Watford and then Everton. I've watched the majority of his games for both teams he was the left winger. In his last season and a half at Everton he started playing up top, first to cover their injuries and then they liked him there. That's not the position he came up playing. We signed him as a striker and he's played the majority there but that wasn't the case before we bought him.

Besides the point anyway. He's not good in either position.

I hate the modern model of players who can play many roles
It means invariably they aren’t good enough to play one

Read the stats. In his total career he has played more games as striker than lw.
If you want to disagree take it up with transfermarkt.

Whilst true, that website says Richi has played 154 times as a centre forward but 163 as a wide player.

I would also say those stats are skewed as Richi has been forced to play number 9 due to DCL only making 18 appearances in both the 21/22 and 22/23 seasons. With a fit DCL, Richi would have played significantly more in that LW berth for Everton. I think Everton used him best actually. His goalscoring rate seemed to be unaffected by whether he played LW or as a 9.

As I said above, he is at least a player that can do both. I still think he favours left forward though.

The thing i liked about the videos before TF arrived is the detail they put into every game, the way they analyse it and have various different coaches putting in their opinion and the way TF listens and takes it in and then creates a plan to try and improve on the last game.

It can kill a career, Paul Madeley was a very good player at Leeds and filled in at 5 positions and never nailed down a regular place.
It’s a sign of a player who maintains a high average level of performance
That’s why they are desired by managers and I get it in some roles
But not the key ones

Has he named his 'leadership' group for the new season yet?
I don’t think so. He was asked before (I think) the Bayern game if he had selected his captain and he said no, but he was getting close. Also mentioned something about the ability to communicate being important. Not sure if that would rule out Romero if his English is limited.

Romero will be captain

We have had Kane as a lead by example
Then Son with a soft kind touch.
Bring me the reign of Romero, one where we start using all the ticks other teams have used against us for years, a 50/50 is only used to describe how much of the ball and the player you take, and there is no 2nd place.

I think that’s most likely but his comment about communication struck me as being a deliberate point (although I only read it as opposed to hearing it spoken, so might well be reading too much into it).
I was going to agree with you that Romero's limited English doesn't help... but actually it can be the opposite. He is more likely to use simple phrases and make himself understood to all the *foreign lads in the dressing room.

Sometimes I see Antipodean great orator managers, and English captains, speaking so quickly there is no chance the *foreign lads understand fully.

By *foreign lads I just mean those that are not fluent in English, no bashing here.
