Very good manager. I don't believe he was regarded as a big enough name by the United players and that's not his problem but theirs. Easy to say it right now but he was my choice to replace AVB. Hope he does well there.

They didn't respect him because of is prehistoric training methods and 80's style football, nothing to do with how big of a name he was.He looked out of his depth from day 1.

Who are you talking about?

That doesn't sound like anything anyone has ever said about David moyes. Do you have quotes?

There were definitely quotes about him being obsessed with not losing, always working on their defensive shape, whereas Ferguson was all about winning.

i can't stand verheijen. calls everyone who has different ideas about football to him a dinosaur lol.

Maybe so but its no excuse to not give 100% for your club - something I feel almost gets forgotten by the fans. Ultimately, A decent manager gets the boot, reputation tarnished whilst the players get away with it.

There was quite a few things written about players being unhappy with his old fashioned training methods. There was also the time he called Rio Ferdinand into his office to study video's of Phil Jagielka, you couldnt make it up.That was confirmed by Ferdinand aswell. :ross:

Their football was awful, did you watch them last season? They set a new club record or pl record or some sort of record for total amount of crosses, they were like a poor mans version of our sides under Redknapp.

I don't think that's pre historic or 80's, Jose is exactly the same.

Except Jose is very very good at it, also his only focus of attack isn't to whip crosses into the box.He has also won pretty much won everything there is to win, Moyes has won, well............ A Charity Shield.

That is true, the attitudes of some of their players was disgusting.

As a keen supporter of Sociedad, I welcome Moyes. Good luck, nice to see British managers managing abroad

Not a fan of Moyes myself (mainly his style of play), but tbh whether you like him or not IMO this is a move to give him respect for. Not many British managers (or players) take the step of managing/playing abroad and fair play to him for giving it a bash. Personally I think it's win/win in the sense that even if it doesn't work out overall (as in it's not an overwhelming success results-wise) Moyes will still get very valuable experience of a different style of football/culture/tactical mindset. You can't buy that and it is likely that this will make him a better person/manager!

For that it is a move to be applauded and I hope more British players and managers follow his lead.

The Welsh star admits he may still be at White Hart Lane if Real Madrid did not make their world-record bid last summer due to his relationship with the supporters

Gareth Bale has admitted he would not have wanted to leave Tottenham for any other club than Real Madrid.

The Welsh star became the most expensive footballer in the world when he moved to the Santiago Bernabeu for €108 million in the summer of 2013.

He has since gone on to win the Champions League in his debut season with the club, as well as the Copa del Rey, in which he scored an incredible solo effort in the final of the competition.

David Moyes recently admitted he was keen to sign Bale when in charge of Manchester United, but the winger insists making any other move would have been hard.

"If it wasn't Real Madrid, it would have been very, very difficult to ever leave," he told The Telegraph.

"I loved my time at Tottenham and the fans were always incredible to me. I think they understood that the opportunity to join Real Madrid was a once-in-a lifetime chance and at the time I was playing well and I wanted to test myself.

"Without Real Madrid, I would have loved to still be playing for Spurs. But winning the Champions League shows exactly why I wanted to make the move. I still want Arsenal to lose and Spurs to win, though."

Hurt like a bitch when he left. Promised myself I wouldn't get attached to any of our players ever again. I'm still attached to this git, though. :(
