The Official Olympic Thread

Am I right in thinking that there is no chance of being able to go to the Olympic Park, the part where you don't need tickets for an event, and watch events on big screen? I don't have tickets yet and desperate to go and watch an Olympics Event. I thought that the Olympic Park, if that is the correct name for the part that I'm talkng about, would be an enclosure that you turned up to and paid an entrance fee and that was it, but thinking I'm wrong and that I'm out of luck? :(
 
Just go to Hyde park

It's free entry and an amazing atmosphere

They have several huge screens

Lots of different nationalities huddled together supporting their nation

Lots of food and drink available too

I think you can buy entry tickets for £10 to get entry and walk around, view the action on the big screens etc. See if you can get a ticket for the orbit tower as well though think they are sold out.


Ennis guaranteed gold pretty much as long as she finishes the race, should break the British record and may even pass 7,000 points. Pressure on her must be immense being poster girl of the games but she has stepped up massively. Seems like a lovely girl as well, always smiling and waving to the crowd. Plus she is silly buff.

Needs a big race for 7000 points, 2:05something required, her PB is 2:07.81. Nothing is guaranteed, but she's certainly got one hand on it. And yes she is gorgeous and down to earth. Perfect woman. Except she supports Sheffield United
 
Its supposedly a very fast track and she looks in good shape so may be possible.

Thats another thing I dont understand, how do you have a fast track? Surely its just a track and built to IOC specification. What more could they do to it, undertrack heating or something

That was a cracking match, brilliant for Robson to get this experience, and Murray in 2 finals, 3 finals at Wimbledon in a month. Awesome
