The Official Olympic Thread

The coverage of the cycling has been the best of any of the sports at the Olympics IMO. The bloke next to Boardman in the commentary position (unsure of his name) is really insightful...

I've gotten into cycling, but they need to look at these rules, should at least be an appeal process, Vicky has been robbed of a gold and possibly another one from last week. Joke

6 Gold Medal for Sir Chris Hoy !!

6 Golds, WOW !!!

22 for Team GB, no judges mugging Team GB off this time

Booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooom

10 events

7 Golds, 1 Silver, 1 Bronze for Team GB

Total and utter domination of the Velodrome at London 2012 !!!!

Im buzzing watching that, I can honestly say Ive enjoyed the 12 days so far so so much, its been fantastic and surpassed all my at first negative expectations

So final track cycling rally:

GB: 7 golds
Commissaires: 2 (allocated to Australia and Germany)
Denmark 1.

Plus a gold-silver-bronze set on the road.

The cycling authorities don't like the GB domination. They removed Hoy's 1km time trial event after Athens, which backfired as he became a sprinter and started winning multiple golds. They removed the individual pursuit where we got 1-2 ans 1-3 in Beijing and put in the one athlete per event rule in after we doubled in four events last time.

I love watching the reactions of the parents, they are huge reasons for their children being olympic gold medallists, massive respect..

I think it's given the entire country a lift. Surely all the northerners who didn't care about the games because it's "a London thing" must be loving it now.
