The "Official" 2013/14 Other teams matches thread

That was a stupid challenge to put your team down to 10 men after 10 minutes, tbf Bony was in on goal and referee had no choice. Still Swansea have played a blinder credit to them fantastic stuff

Alejandro Pozuelo looking very decent..

Yeah I've been kneejerk championing his signing ever since he came on against Liverpool. From first glance he's a very clever player and a sharp passer, I'd be happy to find room for him in our squad

LOL Swansea had more Spanish in their team than Valencia. A Welsh team in the English Premier League beats a Spanish team with more Spaniards. Mind Blown!

After our game you have to admire Swansea's performance more.

why?

they beat a poor Valencia team whose manager made a number of changes due to recent bad form, and who had their best defender sent off, who had Postiga in attack

Swansea did what they do every game. I didnt see anything special tbh. Swansea anyway have better players. From Valencia id take Feghouli and Banega, from Swansea id have Michu, Bony, Rangel, DeGuzman, Pozuelo, Canas and Vorm. Big difference in class imo

You got to love the Special Cnut

Yep really hate the way Chelsea have played over the last 2 seasons when they won the Champs League, FA cup and Europa League. Nah let's change their style, lose the super cup and make the worse start in the league since Roman arrived. Should have kept Benitez but then this is Chelsea.

If they somehow crash and burn I may actually die with laughter.

Have u noticed he's starting to sound like Borat in his interviews?

In fairness, we think we're too good for this competition, while Swansea are delighted to be in it. :(

I don't think we're too good for it, you have to win it to be too good for it. But come on, the standard of the competition compared to the CL is like comparing a 5 star hotel to a hostel. The competition is so dull in the group stages. It only gets good when you get to the last 16. It's been done to death why people devalue it, UEFA themselves treat the competition with contempt. People always says the other nations in Europe take it seriously, it's just English people that don't, I was at the San Siro for the Inter Milan game in March, there must have been 60,000 empty seats. Bare in mind this was the last 16 not some qualifier to get into the tournament.

There have been empty seats at their champs league game too Jurgen. Chelsea fans and players were happy to win the trophy last year. It's only their current **** of a manager who is belittling that achievement. A trophy is a trophy and considering that finances are what they are in football it is difficult to compete to win the champs league. I would be overjoyed to win it tbh.

I am confident we will win a trophy this season. But I will be even more confident after watching us play a proper knockout game next Tuesday.

Not three quarters of the stadium empty though mate. Of course a trophy is a trophy but I honestly would rather finish in the top 4 than win the Europa. Football has changed in the last 10 years or so. I feel with the calibre of players we have and the type of players we seek to attract in the future, regular CL qualification is a must for Spurs. Players like Lloris, Eriksen and Sandro won't stick around much longer if we're playing in the Europa. That's the reality. I know there's a good chance they might leave anyway.

The FA Cup is top of my list in terms of achievable trophies this season I want us to win. Chelsea have won it about 6 bloody times since we last won it.

And to be fair it isn't just Mourinho that puts the competition down. Players in the past like Robben have shown disdain for it. Look at the reaction of our players after missing out on the final day two years running, that in itself tells a story about where they want to be playing.

I like that bt sport have realised people want to watch football, not the guys on the bench. So they bring up a small screen in the corner to show you other things, whilst still focusing on the actual match.

Sky could learn from that. Stop ****ing giving us full screen shots of the bench whilst the game is on.
