IMHO we don't have enough fighters to see it out. Technical players? Yep , flair players? Yep, but in our squad I don't see a single player bar Parker and maybe Adebayor that will grab the game by its neck and fight until the very last minute. When the pressure is on we don't react in the right manner. I wanted players like samba and BEllamy more for their personality and fighting spirit then there actual football ability. I wanted Parker so bad because of the same thing.
I see countless people give it large about how we're comfortably gonna finish 3rd or how others should grow a set for thinking otherwise etc etc. It's easy to say that on a football forum but how many will put their money where their mouth is? Not many.

It won't be comfortable but we will finish top 4. The goons are one injury from average, but anyone who thought we'd cruise into the Cl with a 10 point gap was dreaming. There was always going to be a wobble this season, especially after the travesty of justice that was Eastlands...I think Dawson could be vital in this regard, a fighter, an old-school warrior...Bellamy I agree with...Samba, we absolutely wanted but could not make the deal, Harry's wanted him for ages...another vital player in the run-in will be Gallas, precisely for what you're talking about...I'll put my money down and say we will absolutely be top 4 and CL this season...personally, I think we will also see off the goons into 4th; they're having what I consider to be a purple patch of 'right' where everything the opposition can do to help them win games is happening (the strike from vp, BTW, was absolutely brilliant, no denying)...

But mark me down as top 4 for sure...for sure...

Iknow what you mean, in terms of fighters. I'll give you your due, you called Parker, the Arsenal drubbing and even the scum win today. I'm not ****y about finishing 3rd at all. I'm confident because I know how we have performed this season. Also it's banter. It's what being a fan is about. I got plenty of abuse last week from my scum mates, but I give it plenty when the shoe is on the other foot. If you can't laud it over them then what's the point in it all?

fudge it KD, whatever happens, happens. There's little we can actually do other than scream from the stands and sing loud and proud. Be positive man, belief is a funny thing. If the players are confident then they will perform. We have come a long way in the last 5 years or so and the psychology of the club has changed. Realistically people say the word title and Tottenham and don't laugh. That's progress.
Good post Diego. In general I'm usually a confident and positive person but not when it comes to Spurs. They've fudged me over so much over the years that I simply will not put much faith in them. I'm a positive person when it comes to things that I can actually make a difference to personally but I cannot put faith in them (especially with a lack of leadership that we have). I mean whose gonna fight for us, pick our heads up if we go a goal down tomorrow?

Starting to grudgingly think it'll be better for us if Arse will beat Chelsea for 4th- will be much easier to persuade Modric not to leave us if they finish outside CL places...

Well thats we called 'Half a carrot' in Warrington.

Would have been brilliant for Arsenal and Chelsea to lose, but 1 out of 2 is a bonus.

Chelsea still have to go to Emirates Marketing Project,Arsenal and Liverpool. If we could possibly get a point at Chelsea that would a huge step towards a Top 4 spot, then it would be a straight fight for 3rd.

A win tomorrow and we are right back in the driving seat

Interesting post King...I'll give you an example...last weekend, despite being pressed and pressured, we were 2-0 up. Their fans were on their back, howling for the manager and slagging off Walnut who narrowly avoided getting the hook after barely half an hour according to Wenger. We gave Sagna space for their first. Crowd went a little quieter in their complaints. They got a superb second. Suddenly the crowd are in it. Lifted. Helped tip everything...

I think the crowd can be everything in these situations.
Daws will lead tomorrow, of that I have no doubt.
And I think it's vitally important that the supporters hang in. I really see the Lane as our 12th man tomorrow...and that 12th man will pick up the side if what you outline happens mate...

...finally, just let go and don't simply put your faith in them, pour it into them.
What have you really got to lose by doing so?
Go on mate, just do it...believe!

Think he'd rather Chelsea in top 4 in place of Arsenal.

We all would I think.

But us being in the top 4 is all kinds of 100% more important than Arsenal not getting in the top 4. If we were running away with it I could see a case for wanting Chelsea to win today, but top 4 still isn't in the bag, Arsenal are bound to grow in confidence after the last two games. I'm very happy Chelsea lost again.

a huge boost that. looking more like only the goons to worry about for 3rd. chelsea have an awful lot to do.

yid is right. as much as we hate the filth it would be better for us if the chavs missed out. they are still a shambles, need an awful lot of rebuilding and RVP might leave anyway.

Good thinking, but probably United would come a calling.

For me, if we do finish 3rd I dont really care too much who finishes 4th. Ideally, Saudi Sportswashing Machine, but hell if its Arsenal then its Arsenal, i'd still be over the moon.
Throw me in a trip to Wembley in April, and a Cup final we'll have to watch at home..and I'm a happy bunny

Absolutely in my view

Watched the West Brom game today and they were the better team by a very wide margin. They really were good and Hodgson looks to have done a cracking job there - 9th spot and 5 points away from the 40 pt. safety mark at this stage of the season is a great result from them.

As for Chelsea, they looked absolutely lost and clueless. I couldn't make out what they were even trying to do, never mind what they were actually doing. I have been thinking the AVB stories have been mostly media hype and that he'd be given time to mould his own team, but having watched them today I'd really worry for his future. He does look to have lost his players and the tactics clearly aren't working, so I'm not sure what he's left with.

A word about Drogba - he's been Chelsea's standout playing in recent weeks, and he was fantastic again today in effort and product.
