Hard to see any similarities..Clough DID play pro football.. this guy NEVER..players like Drogba/Lampard/Terry etc
have been involved in pro football when this guy was in diapers...to them he has not credibility to make them believe in his methods if they don't believe in it..

8)

AVB is older than both lampard and terry

Excellent. I think Napoli will score at Stamford Bridge, Cheslea will have to attack and that should play into Napoli's counter attacking style.

Good in the studio. brick on the gantry.
Never really watch the pre or post match stuff, barely heard him other than on commentary.

He's been excellent on the MNF pre match hour, when given free reign. Certainly irritating when co-commentating, but less irritating than Martin (LAAAAMMMMPPPAAAAAAARD!!!!) Tyler imv.

They are a club going nowhere at the moment... neutered manager, ageing 'leaders' and other ego centrics in their squad, club in a bit of a turmoil... and high time too! :p

Tyler is terrible. I find most commentators really irritating, the only ones who seem okay are the people who commentate on Spanish or Italian football. Maybe they're better when they don't have instructions to hype the "product".

Also a massive gooner.

With almost any other manager I'd give Chelsea a chance of going through, but with this guy and these players there's not a chance.

Ray Wilkins reckoned he "has lost weight, and was trembling in the dug-out on Saturday", on national wireless today. Car crash potentially.

For me that's Milan, Napoli, Barca and Real as good as in the next round. Bayern to join them in addition to the winners of APOEL/Lyon, Marseille/Inter and Zenit/Benfica.

I don't mind Gary Neville, but thought he was too dismissive of Napoli tonight.

Napoli created more chances than Chelsea did. They've now beaten two English sides in one season. Someone needs to explain to people like Neville that the days of 2/3 English sides in the semis and 4 English teams in the quarters of the CL year after year are gone, or at least on hold.

I agree, really annoying commentary. I think he even said that this was the first time he had seen some of the Napoli players and he seemed to know very little about how they play. They played similarly to how they played against Emirates Marketing Project and like against Emirates Marketing Project they allowed Chelsea quite a lot of possession, but defended well and looked a constant threat on the break. Despite all their possession Chelsea didn't really create many good chances, their goal was just a defensive mistake/poor pitch while Napoli did create some pretty good chances.

Yet Neville was going on and on about how poor Napoli were defensively and how unlucky Chelsea were to not score more goals.
