‘We deserved to lose’: Mikel Arteta has no complaints after Saudi Sportswashing Machine defeat
“I am very frustrated, we deserved to lose today,” said Arsenal’s manager after Alexander Isak’s fine first-half header secured Eddie Howe’s team a first win in six Premier League games. “We got dragged into the game Saudi Sportswashing Machine wanted and not the one we wanted. But you have to be at your best in every game to give you a chance to win.”

What, he didn't actually make any excuses !!

As Steely Dan songsmith Donald Fagen would say; "I just read the daily news and swear by every word."

I don't give Lego Pedro any more of my precious time than necessary. I watched the game, digested all the details as they happened and was never in need of reading Arteta's emotional blatherings.

Apparently we tried to sign a Peruvian striker named Paolo Guerrero from Corinthians in 2013, but their DoF at the time Edu stopped the move by promising him a big, new contract that never happened. We went on to sign Soldado instead.

Gooner gobbrick Alan Smiff had quite a week. As per the data from icdb.tv (great site to track football commentators). Got two games where he, no doubt, must have expected to be able to gloat about Spurs losing - league cup vs. City, league game vs. Villa. What he saw were two of Spurs best performances of the season.

Gets the gig to co-comment on his beloved Arsenal's visit to Inter Milan. Gets to see a sterile performance from his club in a 1-0 defeat. Interesting to see who he covers the most (shock, Arsenal), who he works with the most (creating the Smiff-Redknapp Echo Collider), and works with the least (Hoddle).

Ødegaard back soon apparently. They've blamed their recent form on missing him, so let's see.

I’m as happy as anyone that they’re struggling but still think suggestions that they’re not that good and that they will miss top 4 are optimistic. That said, their squad depth really isn’t great. They’ve been very lucky with injuries the last couple of seasons and that’s a big reason why they were so consistent but it’s catching up with them now. Their squad just isn’t anywhere near as deep as City’s.

Arteta's having a 'mare, he's got to go hasn't he?

Most likely he’s waiting for Pep to leave so either them or Liverpool can capitalise. I still think he’s made a mistake being so negative when they play City both at home and away. I get they’ve been tonked a couple of times by them but he’s basically admitting they can’t beat them be being attacking them. As much as Liverpool aren’t very popular on here, under Klopp they always played like champions and went toe to toe against them, Bernardo Silva even said as much after the 2-2 draw this season.

Which 2-2 draw are you talking about here?

Agree with your general points
