The Goon Thread

And now apparently Cazorla has apologized for the "offensive picture" saying that he didn't know what was on the sign.

I didn't find the original picture offensive, but I find the apology offensive. I demand an apology-apology!

Speaking of Cazorla. If I could yoink one player from them it would be him. He seems to have got his fitness back and in sparkling form

***don't know how that filth got past the filter***

Ok sorry about the vid but just pointing out that he seems to be their man man

Hopefully Eriksen will be ours

Also like that janujaz. If united don't make top four and we do we should make a move!

Arsenal have reminded Santi Cazorla of his club responsibilities after the Spaniard was forced to apologise for insulting rivals Tottenham.

Cazorla and former Arsenal player Robert Pires were pictured with an unnamed woman holding a piece of paper that read: “What do we think of Tottenham? S---. And what do we think s---? Tottenham.”

The picture was then posted on Twitter and was retweeted around the internet more than 1,000 times.

Midfielder Cazorla claims he was unaware of what was written, but that did not stop Arsenal officials warning him to be careful of getting caught out again.

Cazorla posted an apology from himself and Pires on Twitter that read: “Our apologies to the Tottenham fans, we couldn’t see the paper. #alwaysfootballalwaysrespect.”

This is not the first time a member of Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger’s squad has publicly mocked Tottenham. Theo Walcott gestured 2-0 to the Spurs fans as he was carried on a stretcher and goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny posted a message on his Facebook page that said ‘Wonderful scenes at the Etihad’ during Emirates Marketing Project’s 6-0 thrashing of Tottenham.

Cazorla scored both goals in Arsenal’s 2-0 victory over Fulham on Saturday that kept them top of the Premier League table.

Arsenal have confirmed the appointment of Dutchman Andries Jonker as head of their academy. The 51-year-old, the assistant manager at Wolfsburg, will join Arsenal on July 1 and will succeed Liam Brady in the role.

Speaking of yoinking.

If I could nominate a poster who should get auto-yoinked right off the site whenever he signed in and have himself redirected to one of the darker corners of the internet on his way out the door I know who I would suggest...

one day there will be blood shed between rival club fans

the internet is peppered with arsenal players encouraging this tribalism - they will be blamed for fanning the flames!

What's funny about this is that he said he didn't know what was written on the paper. Pires can read it where he is stood and I am sure Corzola can see it too, all he needs to do is look down.

For some reason when we play them, they ALWAYS seem to be more up for it than we do. Is that because they have the rivalry drilled into them? Do they understand what a win against us means to their fans more that our players? I'd love to know why they always start fast against us. And I think Tim's influence in the dressing room for the rematch in the league will make a huge difference.

Of course he knows what is on it. Does he honestly believe people will think he hasn't read it? That is almost more insulting than the stupid immature message. The 2nd sentence doesn't make sense either, the thick ****.

Haha

Regarding the photo - who bloody cares! More than happy for them ****s to hate us... The feeling is mutual

Not if Ian Wright has his say. According to him the fans have no right to feel aggravated by such things and should simply turn the other cheek. Personally I don't care about banter like this although yes it does help to breed the tribalism you speak of. I still think Walcott was very immature for winding up the fans sat just 20 metres away, but then the Spurs fans were evil for mocking him when he knew he had a season ending injury (that's right the papers reckon it was known at the time lol)

surely the length of the injury is irrelevant in this case. walcott was hurt, and he was getting mocked.

Disparate unrelated incidents are fine...but I believe there is an organized effort to indoctrinate especially the younger players - which shows in their tweets, or worse, in their everyday life (wills here cabby incident) . I'm glad we don't have our players doing the same.

Yes Walcott was hurt and being mocked, happens (wrongly imo) at many a ground, but my point is that the journalists like to report it that he was told that he was going to miss the world cup whilst being taken off by the physios and the dastardly Spurs fans knew it and preyed upon him. Players like Wheelchair behave like the spoilt kids they are, ultimately he and Szczesny are the reasons why I would rather see money bags clubs like Emirates Marketing Project and Chelsea by the title.

which journalists have indicated that walcott was being told he would likely miss the worldcup whilst he was being mocked by us?
and whilst some arsenal players have behaved questionably at times, i personally dont think there was anything wrong with what walcott did (its just banter imo).
