I'm not sure that's entirely on the teams.
Teams rely on spin less than they used to, seamers will always bowl slower overs. Teams also attack the ball more. More boundaries also means slower overs.
I think you'd be hard pushed to show that you get less entertainment for your money in a day than you did in the 80s and 90s.
