big bash league is by far and away better than the IPL, I could watch it every game where as with the IPL I couldn't watch half of one game.

Big bash league game between Sydney and Melbourne at the MCG went to a sudden death over the other night - Melbourne got 19 off the over which won it for them. Brett Lee bowled it for Sydney. Surprisingly KP wasn't sent out to bat for Melbourne even though he smashed 54 runs in the game.

Not surprised. Never rated Brett Lee. Got easy wickets in his test career while McGrath, Dizzy and Warne held up batsmen at the other end.

Adelaide v Perth match was a frustrating one last night. Perth looked dead and buried til Hoggy tied up our batsmen. We couldn't play any of their slower bowlers at all. We (Adelaide/SA) won a tournament on the back of spinners. I reckon a good set of spinners then some medium pace who can very their speed well are all you need in bowling stocks. Don't need fast bowlers who gift boundaries too often.

Watched the Perth v Brisbane game tonight. Poor Freddie had one over and got walloped all over the place by Carberry.
Good to see my team doing well though!

Anyone see Gayle earlier, had a sequence where he scored 52 off 11 balls. Got to his 50 in 17 balls, 2nd fastest ever. 8 sixes in all, he's great to watch in form.

Yeh I saw him a few years back at the Oval and he was insane. He is weird though, some days he looks destructive, others he looks like doesn't know which end of the bat to hold.

WOW

AB de Villiers ripped up the record books with the fastest century in ODIs, off just 31 balls, as South Africa smashed their own record at the Wanderers and racked up 439, four shy of the world record of 443. De Villiers' was the third hundred in a towering South African total which also saw Rilee Rossouw register his maiden hundred and Hashim Amla his 18th, in the highest opening stand South Africa have ever posted of 247.

De Villiers was only at the crease from the 39th over, when Amla had collected a cool 120 off 112 balls. Amla faced just 30 more deliveries and added 33 to his total, an indication of how de Villiers' dominated the last 10 overs and spared none of the West Indian bowlers.

He pounced on everything from slower balls to full tosses, and there were plenty of the latter and showed off his full range of strokes. There was the pull, the scoop, the lofted drive and the good old slog but most effective of all was the way de Villiers targeted the opposition captain. Jason Holder was hardest hit as de Villiers plundered 45 runs off the nine balls he faced from him, including six of his sixes, as he raced past the previous hundred mark of 36 balls set by Corey Anderson on January 1 last year.

Very good bowling from both Finn and Anderson with 5 and 4 wickets respectively, India out for 153, England cruising upto lunch

England recent downfall has been the bowling, Woakes, Finn, Jordan and Gurney are just a leaky combination and were making it such a huge ask to chase or defend targets.

You can not put a price on having Broad and Anderson in the side, we also unfortunately miss Swanny

I agree, we also never make big big scores, scores of 250 simply don't cut it anymore you need 300 plus every game to have half a sniff

Todays game got away from England slightly, I caught the last ten overs today of our innings and we batted poorly, was def 30/40 short in the end

If AB DeVilliers is the best batsman in the world, Steve Smith can't be too far behind him. Has had an unbelievable last few months.

Tredwell has been pretty decent, keeps it tight but doesn't get as many wickets.
