They want £65m which for me is too much for the gamble

Well, boys, we got three forwards out, we got more holes in us than a horse trader's mule, the youth's gone and we're leaking players and if we was flying any lower why we'd need sleigh bells on this thing.Slim pickings

a 1 in 5 striker who has 1 season out of 7 in the PL where he made double figures? who's 2nd best ever PL return is 8 goals?
Each to our own, but not for me
Richy is a 1 goal in every 3.6 games striker in the PL.Our forwards don’t put up brilliant numbers themselves.

Solanke is 1 in 4.3
We should be looking to upgrade without doubt (not least because they both miss too many games), but honestly some of the names being mentioned and the way our 2 are discussed in comparison seems very strange.
Not sure I understandI agree with you. It’s probably just a realistic acceptance of where we actually are. As others have said, finishing 17th in two consecutive seasons will inevitably cause some short-term damage to our reputation.
Did it hurt Uniteds rep or did the money do the magic?I agree with you. It’s probably just a realistic acceptance of where we actually are. As others have said, finishing 17th in two consecutive seasons will inevitably cause some short-term damage to our reputation.
Money. Plus they have recent rep bigger than our rep ever has been.Did it hurt Uniteds rep or did the money do the magic?

Ah right, yea my post wasn’t super clear I guess. I was saying that some of the names being mentioned to come in and wanted by fans are no better than what we’ve got.You said it was strange some of the names that we were linked with/being talked about no? Or did I misunderstand?
But we have much more recent record of winning a trophyUnited have much more clout and have a recent ish track record of winning the league and the CL.
MoneyMoney. Plus they have recent rep bigger than our rep ever has been.
I'm including Fergie as recent era.Money
Money is what matters
Players didn’t sign to play at old Trafford or for the manager (I mean he was sacked not long after)
And their recent history is not great
They did however sign for massive wages
I’m talking the other year when finished just above us, lost the Europa bug still got in some decent players by paying the £££I'm including Fergie as recent era.
In that case definetly money but we have to also admit that Manchester United simply have a higher status than we do. That status doesn't hurt when they are throwing money at the problems they have. It at the very least looks ambitious.I’m talking the other year when finished just above us, lost the Europa bug still got in some decent players by paying the £££
Money makes the difference
Neither have been especially successful for them, but City castoffs can be positives for us. We aren't shopping in the same markets.City fans are over the moon with both of them potentially leaving. They say they are deadwood and it would be great to get their wages off of the books whilst bringing in decent money.
