Or you could just try to not over police the forum? Its usually a sure fire way of slowing it down.

Particularly with a thread like this = unless a specific player is being discussed I know there is no "news". I also know that as soon as there is some ITK/Rumour/Article posted this thread will get immediately back on track.

Lets be honest, the transfer rumour mill has slowed to a stop right now
 
The one on fighting**** is just an ITK thread and is a lot of work for the mod involved. They've transfer rumours in another thread which is rather like this one.

The mutiple thread thing was tried here and frankly was a disaster. This is thread working just fine for me. Sometimes it goes on a tangent but it is a discussion forum and it is bound to spark discussion.

It has recently been discovered that admin can post into locked threads without having to change any settings - wouldnt be that big a deal to just have a locked (read only to us) thread to be updated. The cost is of course an admin has to then do the C&P work...

As well as that I would have thought discussing what players we need and how we go about getting them would fall into "Transfer rumour ITK discussion and associated crap"

ahh i didnt know that, and someone like Jordinho is copying and pasting all day into this thread, so all he has to do is stick all the ITK and rumours in the read only thread

As a fellow poster I'm bored of the 'No striker for X windows' talk as it has been done so many times and it's the same every time as people aren't willing to change their views.

Isnt that the way with just about everything on here?

pro Redknapp, pro AVB, Anti Either, What does Jenas do, Bentley is rubbish - no he is not, We need X,Y or Z...

None of it ever changes. Not sure what being fussy about which thread it goes in will achieve, aside from stiffling any debate that does begin.

It is simple, but only on the basis there is a mod (or group) willing to do it.

Even simpler is to have an "ITK UPDATES ONLY" thread thats open and ONLY ITK get posted into - a cut down version of this one for those looking for a quick update can use. Problem is people cant be trusted to keep to the premise...

With some things i can understand it. I.e. the tactics thread is nice, but not discussing Levy's transfer policies in a transfer thread?

The mind boggles.
