Yeh but it's who we've replaced them with, moutinho is the only player we have talked about bringing in who is on a par with modric or VDV ability wise with a ball at his feet, and were not even getting him.

i would wager Levy tried as hard as he could without being reckless to land Moutinho. He was up against a club playing hardball and a player demanding huge wages. That is all.

He is not going to bankrupt the club over it. Nor should he.

Erm....Dembele's magnificent at dribbling, Dempsey's scored 20+ goals last season and is a brilliant attacker of the ball, Vertonghen is the current Dutch player of the year and is renowned for his technical ability, Sigurdsson's got fantastic technique from long range, and Lloris is a keeper who likes to recycle possession.

All the creativity we had last season didn't help us when facing those 'ten men behind the ball' teams. Now, we can dribble through them with Dembele, fire in long shots with Gylfi, use Dempsey as an inside forward/attacker of the ball or use all three. So yes, we've lost this nebulous 'creativity'. We've gained some magnificent new options, though. I don't think we'll see so many teams frustrating us anymore.

how easy do you think it is for a club outside of the Champions League to bring in players of their quality ?

Dembele and Sigurdsson is not far away from the best we could have done IMO

The whole wage structure thing is a bit of a myth - as proved by Bale's new deal and signing Ade on a permanent deal.

There is, however, a wage budget which will not be exceeded.

There are no more than 10-20 clubs in the world that pay higher wages than Spurs.

Spurs got Lloris and Dempsey for the same price as Sunderland got Steven Fletcher

a myth? what deals are bale and ade on? no way its above 85 or 90 surely

I think Moutinho might still be on...we are specialists at sneaking a signing through. And considering Lloris was seemingly done hours ago, I reckon we may have got most of the Moutinho stuff done already, just a matter of agreeing one sticking point maybe.
