Which player would you like to see take over from Luka Modric?

The Twente one (the Ajax one is a midfielder isn't he?)

Also, I can't see Ajax letting any other key players go (with selling Verts this summer)

Seim then, I dont think he is a midfielder, nor is he an out and out striker, more of a forward. He's been added to the Dutch squad too, he has something about him. His brother is a higher goalscorer but thats because he is a striker.

Eh, know people who are big Ajax fans, they all hate Siem, think he's worthless.

Hazard to Chelsea is purely about money. Ridiculously high wages and a nice fee to the agent.

Bas Dost is talking to several PL clubs. Saudi Sportswashing Machine, West Ham and Villa all mentioned.

Problem with Sturridge is two fold. He wants to be a striker, but is a level lower than Defoe, Saha etc at it. His best position is wing forward, which we use unless Redknapp changes the system. By changing the system to suit Sturridge, we have no room for VDV or Lennon. Both better players than Sturridge.

We signed Sturridge and it would be like the scattergun approach of Comolli. Buy decent players without any thought as to how they will fit into the team, or weather they are even required.

He is not a level lower than a 34 year old injury prone nothing player.

In addition he certainly appears considerably more motivated than 30 year old Defoe who starts moaning and wants out after 3 consectuive starts on the bench

His best position is centre/forward/striker (his natural one) - problem is at Chelsea he couldn't displace Drogba or Torres (!) so was offered an alternative position out wide in their 4-3-3 or back out on loan. Said so himself many times. Did very well at Bolton the seaosn before when played as a central forward and at such a young age offers considerably more potential than any of Defoe and Saha put together. For a low fee could be a very good deal, imv

A little unfair that, Arcy.
As Defoe himself says, he has NEVER asked to leave, he just wants to play.

I think he's picked his words wisely - although the message is all too familiar

'I want to play' meaning - 'I need to move somewhere and play regurarly.' Agents know all to well - it's a carefully worded message to possible suitors

Happened when Berbatov arrived

Happened 2 seasons ago

Happened last season

I can understand his frustration as a striker, being mostly a confidence player more than anything but I find it disappointing to read this type of interviews so very often. Actually I hope he moves next month for the sake of his career which from here on would most likely decline as his pace evaporates. If he's not happy with being a squad player in a Top 6 club he can go and become a regular at a bottom 6 one.

So were Afonso Alves, Kezman and Kuyt.

So we're Ruud van nistleroy, marco van basten, Dennis bergkamp, and robin van persie. So what if soe strikers from the Dutch league are brick, that's true of any league. True question: how do you think fowler Andy cole or shearer would ave done had they played in foreign leagues?

Even if Hazard is a d1ck, he does materially strengthen Cheatski and makes them much more of a threat next year. They still need a manager mind you and will need Torres or another CF to remember where the goal is but with Hazard, Mata and Marin they have enough creativity....
