Hopefully Tel will be pushing for that starting spot come the end of pre season.

If you swap Kulu for someone who can actually tackle instead of bundling players over and play our strong CF options up front instead of Son, you've got a team there. Although I'd prefer Udogie at LB.

We didn't play to his strengths at all, TF will play to his strengths, the way he set up with Brentford last season was playing the ball into the area around the penalty spot from the wings for the attackers, Solanke will thrive if we set up like that.

He is fast and great at keeping the ball
It’s what you need from a CF in the modern game with WF

In a decent system, both Tel and Johnson (though i would rarely play both of those at the same time) should get a lot of goals feeding off him

Players like him and kudus are the stardust signings i wanted this window after all the youth investment. Players who are first team ready and will push others to step up

We also needed to address the club trained issue urgently … we’re sill gimme have that as a problem for the next 2 years

Established youth + ready made signings

is probably better than

Established seniors + inexperienced youth

In any case, we'll be buying first team upgrades and youth prospects every year going forward, just as we have been.

The youth will take 2/3 years to come good. You want the team to peak at the same time. So youth first makes sense.

I think this is the first time in my lifetime supporting Spurs that we haven’t got that real stand out player who is in a tier of their own playing at close to their best.

No Modric, Berbatov, Kane, Bale, Klinsmann, Son (past his best imo), Ginola, King etc.

I’m sure we had Ledley King who was going into his prime (or would have without the dodgy knee) when Ramos got sacked.

Didn’t we have Lloris who was classed as one of the best GK in the world and Verts aswell when Poch took over.

Point is if a team is playing badly the players won't be lauded. They do the players will. You need good players and a good system that brings the best out of them.
