Squad

I don’t get what your argument is, i’m just making a statement, not saying its a good thing or a bad thing.

Did you not read the bottom paragraph?

Some of the players we have now might be the next kane, son, bale etc... When kane, son, bale first started playing for us they weren't considered world class.

You saying this is the only time you can remember us not having a stand out player. We finished 17th in the league. When we were 2 points in 8 games nobody was saying modric and bale were world class and would win multiple champions leagues.

No, but we had King who was our star player whilst the others grew into the stars. Modric and Bale went, Lloris and Verts were the next couple whilst Kane and Son become the star players.

I think this is the first time in my lifetime supporting Spurs that we haven’t got that real stand out player who is in a tier of their own playing at close to their best.

No Modric, Berbatov, Kane, Bale, Klinsmann, Son (past his best imo), Ginola, King etc.
I think it’s great if the rest are up a level as a whole
It’s a team game and I’d rather have a group of 8/10s rather than 2 players who 9/10s backed by 7s
You need the collective quality to win the bigger cups

King who managed a total of 4 prem games the season before?

Borrowed from elsewhere to visualize

Just shows how everyone is struggling with this

Example - Matthew Craig is 22 years old at this point. No way he could be a List B

I'm also wondering about Scarlett. He was 21 back in March last season. Does the UEFA back date to Jan 1st or something?

If not, both of these could be club trained like Austin. I say "could be" as there's also rules about being out on loan as an U21. I was thinking Ash Phillips would be List B as he's U21 and completed his 2 years registration with Spurs. Maybe not though, because of the loans.

Can't imagine UEFA could find some smart kid in Europe and pay them their average salary of 150k euros and maintain a database on this stuff. That would be UEFA being proactive for a change :)

Im sure its a Jan 1st cut off

Thanks for that.

Also realising that it wouldn't have even mattered whether Scarlett is list B or club trained. Frank can utilise him away from the "full to the brim" List A and Association Trained pots either way.

I'll always love him for the Elfsborg game regardless what happens next in his career.

He was still world class, i'm not sure why you want to turn this into a debate, this was something i think and if you don't think the same then i'm sure i will get over it.

Don't mind me. Been the pub today.
Just think we forget how we felt about the squad at the time harry and poch took over. Instead we look back at it now knowing how good some of those players turned out.
Just hopeing in 10-20 years we look back to now and think wow we had some great players in that squad.
