It's almost as though you can't judge the transfer window, until it ends. Who knew?!

IF Spurs continue to have £150m to spend on players each year i.e. 3 lots of £50m players, we can continue to make strides away from the chasing pack, if spent at all wisely, we should be able to identify 3 good players like Kudus / Simons for that kind of price point.

And we shouldn't be sniffy about loans... Palhinha and Kolo could be epic for us this season.

lol - £50m is the new £30m though. Won't be long before we'll need two £75m players to get ourselves ahead of the chasing pack.

It’ll probably be a few season down the line until we can properly judge whether this has actually been a successful transfer window.

As it’s highly unlikely the players who’ve plied their trades in other league will hit the ground running and we’ve seen in the past that paying top dollar for some of the best talents in Serie A, La Liga and Ligue 1 has been far from guaranteeing they’ll be successful in EPL… fingers crossed Simons and Muani will take to it like ducks to water though.

Hopefully we’ll have a better hit rate when shopping in the €50m aisle than we’ve had with those around the €30m bracket over the years.
