Son Heung-Min

Ange post interview was very clear, regardless of game situation he wasn't going to risk Son past 55-60 mins
kulu's interview was consistent. the plan was son off early but you know, adrenaline .... one helluva drug
great to see that son was putting in proper shift even knowing that he was going off and hoping to continue after the goal

son forced that penalty chasing and dribbling the ball into the penalty box
he certainly has more joy playing for country who plays him to his strength

I've always had a feeling that Sonny is happy defending high. He is close to clueless when he has to defend in his own half. Even though it's a different defensive technique, I've always struggled that it has never clicked with him. He takes up bad positions, he doesn't compress the space and in key moments he doesn't engage in the player. There is absolutely no reason why that cross for the Ipswich goal should have been that easy.

I read quotes earlier, the SK coach said Son was clearly not at full fitness and needed to be taken care of, and thus was removed after an hour... followed by quotes from Son saying how he feels 100% fit and has been looked after brilliantly by Spurs. I came on here expecting to see a discussion about that.

My big woo-woo-lemons theory about Sonny is along the lines of when I called Conte's grief over Ventrone's death early. I think all the stuff which broke regarding his father and the soccer school back in Korea has had a deep effect on him. Add that to being over tired and over played, being 32, and having to adapt his natural game for Ange, and I think it's got to be tough for him right now.
