At least we know now officially after years of suspicion that going to a Coldplay gig is a sacking offence.
I crossed paths with Liam last week.
I struggle to think of a worse band.
Please accept my sympathies.
Manningtree?!Equidistant between London and Norwich.
Manningtree?!
23 degrees is also totally wrong. As is ColdplayI'd love to see Coldplay again. Saw them back in 2003. Brilliant. I'm not a huge fan or anything, but they have a lot of excellent songs. Just listened to Strawberry Swing the other day. Yellow is ace. That Kraftwerk cover, Talk! Orphans. They're hit Machines! Great band! Haha.
My phone got fudged today after 6 years. I hate having to get new phones, so many to choose from and they're all so expensive.
Went for a swim in the fjord the other day. 23 degrees in the water. It was nice.

Parachutes is a work of art. If anyone can properly listen* to that album and tell me that Coldplay are brick / total toss it tells me a lot about that person's ability to appreciate music.
Take Oasis, I despise the band and whole vibe that goes with it, but if you can really sit through what's the story morning glory and still say they're brick, you've not gone in with an open mind.
*I mean really listen to it, with a solid sound setup with full attentiveness without the paper thin attention span that has afflicted generations of every age group.
I like Trouble. The rest not so much. I don't hate Coldplay. I just don't like them either. It is just what you like or don't really and i listen them more than I would like to as my kids play them. I'm sure you wouldn't like the brick I listen to either but my main point is the water is too warm.Parachutes is a work of art. I'm so happy I switched away from Samsung. Got a Oneplus 11 and it's brilliant. Better camera than Samsung, faster, better battery and LIGHTNING fast charging with its 120W charger. And half the price of a Samsung. Lacks inductive charging though, but I rarely used that anyway, so not important to me. The newer Oneplus 12 has that, but is otherwise only marginally better. My phone got fudged today after 6 years. I hate having to get new phones, so many to choose from and they're all so expensive.

Dan?Stop getting Bond wrong.

There have been other good bits since top.
Coldplay suffer from the same as U2 - they are successful, they unashamedly do their own thing and don't pander to anyone, they are geeky enough to not be rockstar cool but not geeky enough to be geek cool, they speak up about uncomfortable issues.
Musically, they make mostly 7/10, radio friendly songs that gets lots of airplay, so become annoying irrespective of quality.
Put on a Coldplay greatest hits and most people would like most of it - and then probably still say they don't like Coldplay!
Right, I'm gonna put parachutes on - it's been a very long time
They have a front man that is a good guy, but a bit annoying.
U2, Coldplay and Nickelback all hit that area and became adjectives.
I will certainly come back to you on this at the weekend when I get some time.Try me! I've been stuck in a bit of a rut, I cycle around 10 / 15 miles a day and pop on either some lo fi electronic "mood music" like fourtet or boards of Canada or some braggadocious hip hop on my phone. But I rarely sit down to listen to full album with headphones. Kinda sad really. I did listen to the new(ish) sleep token album and fudging loved it tbf
That's a very solid summary. I think it became cool to dislike them and GHod forbid having a front man who has the audacity to not eat the rotting flesh of animal corpses (not i don't work in marketing!). One particularly excellent superhans line that gets regularly quoted without appropriately giving credit comes to mind!
It's interesting, there's plenty of grown men who've modelled their whole vibe on the Gallagher brothers, haircuts, clothes and the way they carry themselves...As i said, I can't stand them but there's obviously something special there. If you're famous, chances are there'll be a bunch of people who can't stand you, it's hard to be universally liked apart from for Son I guess.
There's so much music out there now to delve in to but if you're happy listening to what I would consider slop on the radio, then fair enough.
