Savio

Well the general view is he see Marnoush as the striker… something he has never been (reminds me of son as a striker and the idea that players who score goals can play there)
That for me, is far has been our biggest weakness

If rumours are to be believed its also likely why we got him, because he himself wants to play in that role. When you look at our wide options now with Kudus and Savio and the fact we were going for another, I think its likely he is here to play as a CF

I’ve never read that he wants to play there so can’t comment
I do know he hasn’t played there much at all in career and he holds the ball up like Richarlison
No point having ball play CBS playing it into the forwards if they can’t keep the ball to bring others in
We’re wasting Marmouhs strengths imo if so

I bloody hope he isn't on the right. Imagine a world where we rotate between Savio and Kudus but the left chooses between Tel and Mudryrk. 😭
According to Transfer Markt, Savio's main position is left winger.

He has played more on the left than on the right although he can play both sides.

It’s where he played in Spain most of the time and made city want to buy him from themselves
He looked great too because he is left footed and could whip the ball in well
Also suited his runs as he ran a lot diagonally (if that makes sense) towards the 6 yard line
Always think inverted players are easier to play against unless they have great ability to make spaces for shots

I'm one of the few who watched him at Girona, it's a night and day difference for him in the left versus the right. On the left he plays more like an winger/playmaker hybrid. He'll go inside or outside cross or pass in field and paradoxically he's more of a goal threat on the left as well. He sneaks on ball across goal a lot and he has that diagonal shot into the far corner shot.

That diagonal is what I mean
It’s not gonna happen playing on the right

Which is why the whole we have to have a left winger thing is gonads - Savio on the left and Kudus on the right - sorted!

It’s really how I thought it would be
Could be the fitness thing but then why wouldn’t you start them on those sides and deal with it as the game goes on

I know we agree on that
But managers see very different things
RDZ thinks marmoush is a CF… I think he is just like sonny and clearly RDZ wins
I think JPVH is a weak defender…. RDZ made us pay £51m rather than stick isthmus Dani’s and Vuskovic
Savio played his best football of his career mainly on the left. We’re sticking him on the right where he hasnt been very effective in his time at city
As i say, what we see as fans isn’t what managers see
I think Savio played on the right because no-one really wants Porro to play there, Kudus is not ready to start games, moore has gone...so who are you left with.

Swapping him and Tel over is the only other option

Was he as lethal on left wing as this EPL proven (and 2 time champion of Europe) though?!

Play the one player who your one first choice in his best role - Savio on the left to get the best of him
Allowing tel to whoever to play on the right potentially with more space because the guy on the left is going his job better
Instead we had two players struggling
Tel has been struggling a bit regardless. (I'm not actually sure what his preferred position is, or what the manager thinks is his preferred position?).
If Kudus then comes on for Savio...Tel will then be back on the left anyway.

Perhaps he's giving Tel a run in the same position as it may help him develop? Makes sense? Rather than shunted around (Even if it isn't going that well)

It'll all iron itself out once everyones fitness starts peaking.
