Sandro - Beast

I get that initially but you'd think he could hook up for the Toronto or Chicago game. I'm not questioning his commitment - just stating he must have been fairly ill.

I don't think so. Like the WC players, Walker and Chiriches, he's just not at Poch's expected level of physical conditioning yet. That virus obviously set him back a fortnight in pre-season. I think Poch would rather play inferior fit players, than his best players at 80%.

I expect he'll get 90 minutes on Thursday.
 
We could have done with him yesterday. I like Bentaleb and think he will develop into a spurs captain one day but as the midfield anchor (after the sending off) he was a little lost.

It was a lot to ask of a 19 year old with half a season under his belt.

Like everyone on here, I rate Sandro but I think that it looks like Poch doesn't. Whether this is because of fitness concerns or because he doesn't have a great range of passing, I don't know.

I thought he did alright. Wasn't imposing, but with 10 men and playing alongside Eriksen in a two man midfield that's a big ask.

Did what was necessary and very little happened through the middle for West Ham.

Primarily I want him more involved on the ball, but that will possibly take some time.

I thought when it went to 10 v 10, Bentaleb was excellent.

Yes spurs definitely were in the ascendancy when the numbers were leveled up, but I think a lot of that was to do with the subs Holtby and Townsend and indeed Kane later on. Once we were on the front foot again Bentaleb came back into the game but I thought he was marking space for that middle third of the match. It was a big ask for the young man but I guess they didn't cut us open through the middle really. Their preferred method of attack was mortar rather than full frontal assault.

just want to say.....I hope we keep Sandro..its a long Season ..an all that...And I think he is still a class player...

No Verts, Sandro, Paulhino or Chadli? Benteleb plays though, so it can't be because they need to be rested re world Cup. Are they all gone by the closure of the window?

Verts came back to training with a little ankle injury so thats probably why he isnt back yet. The rest, well your guess is as good as mine. Good point about Bentaleb, Lloris is back too

Paulinho hasn't had a break in a long time with the way the Brazilian season was scheduled and his transfer over here.

Sandro had a virus during pre-season and might not be up to speed.

Chadli.. I have no idea..

Sandro picked up the virus around the same time Ade was hospitalized with malaria iirc......Ade is back and playing. I think Sandro is ok, he has been training for weeks and it was surprising he wasnt even on the bench on Sat.

i guess Paulie definitely needs a bit more rest after nearly 18 months of non stop football

That could be true, but I'd say that Ade didn't look ready yet on Saturday either.
