Ryan Mason

Mason will be our classic Pleat ... always around the club in one capacity or another.

Could be a future manager, has had a close up with some great coaches, Pochettino, Mourinho, and not Conte.

Maybe he will get his chance, but has a lot to learn and possibly go somewhere else and prove himself at another club first.
I think you mean Pochettino, Conte and not Mourinho

No I was right the first time, Mourinho has won more than Conte and Pochettino combined.

Decades ago and with always more money than anyone else. He could also only ever get a tune out of generation x players, millennials never responded to him

Here we go, not decades ago, didn't have a massive budget at Porto or Inter. So boring going with the agenda and narrative.

The facts are that he's won more in his career than Spurs
He had a massive budget at Inter.

True with regards to Porto but again relatively speaking he had a large budget with Portuguese football. He used that well to create a team that was able to punch above its weight internationally.

And in both respects conquered Europe against teams with even bigger budgets.

But here you go look at his transfers at Inter ...

Large budget balanced with some great sales too .... his net spend was very Spurs like, net spend £10.71 million

Thanks for sharing this, Mason comes across very well. I remember reading an interview with Jenas where he mentioned Mason was the academy player the first teamers at the time were most aware of, and thought of as most likely to break into the first team squad partly due to his mindset/confidence. Working with Conte can only help him, wherever his coaching/manager career takes him

Well with Inter you have to look beyond just the season they won the CL, his previous season he had a net spend of 63m which in 2008 terms is akin to hundreds of million in net spend. Then of course Inter had been spending large sums for many years so the squad already had a base of expensive and high level players to work from.

Even the deal that makes the 2009 net spend look great was absolutely bonkers. In no way was Zlatan worth Eto'o plus 50m.[emoji1787] Eto'o was the best striker in the work at the time. Inter did amazingly well that summer.

One final note is Inter's wage bill at the time was by no means small. Iirc they were in the top 5 wage spenders in Europe in that period so not quite the same situation as Spurs.

But anyway we are digressing. [emoji1544]
