Ryan Mason

So after 6 games Mason has a ppg of 2.0

Our season ppg up until his appointment was 1.5 (50 points from 32 games) and from 1st Jan to his appointment was 1.4 ppg (23 points from 16 games)

May have come too late in the day for us to achiece anything meaningful but hard to argue it hasn't seen a clear upturn in results - not bad for someone with absoloutely no experience in the dugout.

Thanks & good luck for the future Ryan...

:p
Hard to compare as the quality of opposition varies but Mason did about as well as could be expected really considering he has zero experience.

Varies is an understatement - Mourinhos 32 games included playing all the big 6 twice. Mason had a generous set of 6 games bar Leicester, and got a tidy points tally so he has done his credentials some good for whatever he fancies doing next.....

If only he’d matched the previous gaffer’s haul of 6 points in the reverse fixtures against Leeds and Villa then we’d be in CL next season!

At least his managerial honeymoon had a happy ending nonetheless :D

of course my post is somewhat tongue in cheek but given some of the calling out of the last few days it should be understandable. Worth noting that today was the only game this season we a have beaten a team that were in the top 10 (?) at the time of playing them so technically our best result on paper too :)

Isn't it because it was 2 points for a win up until the 80s?
Points per league game (counting wins as 3 points for pre 80s football) is the best way to get a reasonably like for like comparison. I think Mason's sample size is too small for him to be compared really.

Didnt do too badly too...always going to be a difficult role suddenly thrusted forward to lead peers temporatily. Glad it ended on a positive note. From the press interviews he sounds like he would make a good coach someday.
