Can say what I like Roy, my opinion is they both contributed next to nothing.
You can say what you like yes but you should talk sense really it will help you long term on here.
They didn't do much granted but nor did any of the players so singling out anyone is pointless.

It looked like a difficult game for Mason. I imagine it take a while to get used to being back in the side, the pace of the game, teammates etc, and he probably needs a run of games. I expect Carroll would have found it equally difficult, although I would have rather had Carroll on looking for a goal. However good the team you always need an industrious player or two that keep the ball ticking over.

My problem with Carroll isn't his size, it's that he's timid with it.

Sadly he is no where near as talented as those 2 which gives them some allowance for their lack of physicality. "having bite" is not enough as a defensive midfielder, he needs to be able to read the game, get into good positions and be physically strong to break up attacks. I don't think he is a defensive midfielder. He is better as one of the three behind the striker perhaps an understudy for Eriksen. However, in that position I would humbly say that I think Pritchard will be better than Mason, so for me he is surplus to requirements.

While Ossie was slight he dominated midfields at a time when players got 7 bales of brick kicked out of them. He was hard as nails and never shirked a tackle.

He was tougher than the majority of players I see today. Indeed, he absolutely NEVER bottled a tackle whatsoever. I think it is hard to fully appreciate him unless you saw him regularly (like we did) on pitches like Ayresome Park and Kenny Road in brick weather. An UTTER ledge, and the reason I knew within 5 minutes of watching Modric that he was going to be excellent, size be damned.

Sure you can say what you like, but if you cannot come up with intelligent, balanced criticism then don't expect to be taken too seriously.
For sure it was not one of his better games, but to suggest Mason did next to nothing is just plain wrong. He put in the hard yards as always and made an absolutely critical interception first half, had he not been back in the box at that point we would likely have conceded at a critical moment just before half-time:
