Steve Sedgley
Tbf, he wasn't up against much.
Definitely agree, but he looked sharp, took control.
Him and Hojbjerg forming a very good partnership I think.

Really good to have a conversation about which of three new signings have been the best with arguments being made for all three.
None of the above, Sess wins that window by default! Was a bit of a tougher conversation with Ndombele, GLC and Jack Clarke.
Dele used to do this really well higher up the pitch tooI really love the way he controls/takes his first touch on the turn. As opposed to controlling first and pivoting ala Scottie Parker or just assuming he has no time and playing straight back the way he is facing, like Winks etc.
I saw a clip recently about how Foden does the same thing and that turning while controlling the ball means he has a split second advantage to then look up and find a forward pass before the opposition can settle and watching Bentancur do it sometimes is amazing to watch

I do like Bentancur, he seems to be a rare mix of grace on the ball and steel off it.
How does when he is playing wellMaybe he does not stand out as much as our other two Jan signings but he controls that midfield for us.

That situational awareness starts before he gets the ball. Him, Kulu, Modric, VdV always scanning the space around them and tracking the nearest players in their head - like that little radar / map thing in the corner of video games.I really love the way he controls/takes his first touch on the turn. They are players that want the ballThe maturity (in a footballing sense) of the two we signed in January is staggering. They're advanced footballers for their age, but the body should still have a lot to give. Certainly indicates a characteristic worth looking for in future purchases.

.....and not scared of responsibility. They are players that want the ball
That’s kind of what I meant.....and not scared of responsibility.
