Roberto Soldado

Is the first refusal thing based on anything other than that one ITK?

I've seen it alluded to more than once, but it may well have come only from a single source (Cobra on TFS, I believe). Valencia play AC Milan in a friendly tomorrow night, though. I guess Soldado's presence or absence will be a strong indication of how matters lie.

i think Soldado hasnt returned to training yet, tomorrow is his first day back. So there is no way he will play any part in the game

I agree that Soldado doesn't seem like a like for like replacement for Suarez at all and doesn't seem to be what Liverpool need in their squad.

Not sure Eriksen is either though, but if they do sell Suarez they will probably bring in several players for different positions and Eriksen would be fairly cheap so could see them going for him.

Soldado doesn't really fit Liverpool's transfer strategy under Rodgers and their new owners either. Same could be said about us, but we're obviously interested despite that, not so sure about Liverpool.

Surely, Rodgers' transfer strategy will take a back seat to any opportunity that helps propel them back into top 4 contention. Soldado, at 28, might not seem to mesh with Rodgers strategy for re-stocking with younger talent that can grow together. But a talented, if short-term, acquisition to strengthen them quickly and restore them to top 4 contention would surely overide long-term transfer strategy. And it would impair Spurs top four prospects. If they get there, look out. Their leaky, foundering boat would instantly ride high, wide and handsome.

Paying top whack for Soldado is a reasonable risk for them.

He a fake 'journo' on twitter that just reposts stories he finds on the internet as if their his own.
Absolute bizarre past time for some gooner.

Cheers for the heads up mate.

Very bizarre indeed but sadly....

Is Soldado likely to play tomorrow v AC Milan? I could be going and could do a chant for when he gets the ball!!

i think Liverpool will buy Eriksen from Ajax once they sell Suarez.....they have Sturridge, Aspas and Borini to be the goalscorers, what they need is an Eriksen who can score and create like Suarez

Having seen Eriksen in the flesh I do not think he is a ready made Suares replacement.... good player, but not the striker that the diving, biting cheat is!

As it is for us.

They signed, and are seemingly happy with, Sturridge as their out and out striker just this January though. They did pay a decent fee for him too. Rodgers also signed Borini last summer for a good chunk of change, I think he's best as an out and out striker too.

They seemed to want Mkhitaryan earlier this window, I would expect them to go for a player like that if they are going to shell out for a £20m+ signing.

Of course a signing that can be afforded that restores them into top 4 would be prioritized, as it would for us. But there are many potential signings they could make that could do that for them. Just saying that for me Soldado doesn't seem like a great fit for them.

Signing him would stop us getting him though!

Indianspur didn't say he was a Suarez replacement....A fair shout though, I think they will buy Eriksen with the money

They could buy both with the money

Lucas
Gerrard Eriksen
Sturridge Soldado Coutinho

I just hope we can get this done but it's going drag on and on I suspect.
