Richarlison

It’s exactly that’
Some days and some games suit him
My mate has a theory he has lost cifndince because of the random rumour about him being used in the Eze deal 😬😬

Could be. He’s had mental health struggles so maybe he’s a bit low because of that. Don’t want to sound blunt but in the most polite way, he needs to knuckle down and get on with it as the transfer window has closed and he’s a THFC player.

Low or high mental strength he's not a consistently good player. He's actually a poor one that has occasional periods of decent form. I dunno why as a fan base we love to settle mediocre so much.

Are we afraid of actually having quality players or something? 😅

I take the point about chances but his overall play still leaves a lot to be desired. The ball bounces off him and he barely won a header or challenge against Bournemouth.
I agree he's inconsistent in his overall play, as you mentioned in a different post. He can have great involvements, but most of his technical work is inconsistent.

Provide him good service in the box and he'll score regularly. And his work rate, effort and all that will pretty much always be consistent.

I'm not expecting consistency from him technically, he's imo never been that player. But give him chances and he'll score at a good rate and he'll work hard regardless. That's a good combo as long as we create chances and a pretty bad combo if we don't.

provide solanke, johnson, son and many others the right service and they will score

the point is that we need players who are competing for places - always ready to step in and perform to win
always giving chances and admiring hard work isn't enough - that's how you lose games and ensure not winning trophies

Yeah, where does hard work get you? It's not like Richy managed to win a trophy with us or - Ooohhh hang on nevermind.

Did you like his goal yesterday?

We all wish he would stay on his feet more; there are times when the ball is crossed in and 12 players all jostle for the ball whilst Richie immediately collapses to his knees. It's like a Pavlovian response to any cross whilst getting the slightest touch with a little finger, he just collapses.

But he also does a lot of good things. And note that IF Muani plays really well, Richie will be our 3rd choice striker behind Muani and Solanke, and he's a bloody good 3rd choice!

Also, people are wishing we had a Kudus for the left wing; don't forget that Richie has performed well as a left sided forward, at times.

5 appearances (1 as sub) in the Prem this season.
3 goals.
1 assist.

Let's say he plays 25 league games at this pace.
That would be 15 goals and 5 assists.
Not at all shabby.

We know enough about him at this point to say that it’s probably unlikely he gets those kind of numbers. He’ll either get injured again or his form will decline.

A better player might have scored more than 1 yesterday and maybe we get all 3

A typically easy non statement to make. I'm not sure if it's fun to be that way inclined, you should try supporting the players and see how it feels. If a player you don't like scores one, you can always say they should've scored two. I'm still waiting for metalgear to come back with a response but presumably that'll be after Richarlison has puts in a performance where he doesn't score

The way I see it, Richy started the comeback which got us a point when we were 2-0 down. You've got him bang to rights for not scoring a hatrick though, what a let down!

Still prefer Ricky to Solanke at the moment. 9 games out of 10 he gives his absolute all and whilst his pressing isn’t as good think he causes more problems for the defence.

Hoping Dom has another level up once he’s fully fit, but ultimately it will be good for them both to battle it out and fingers crossed reduced the chance of injury with more rest games available.

I support Tottenham not any player. No I don't have him bang to rights, but it seems like you're excusing all the poor play because he scored. I have a more balanced look at things. A player scoring does not automatically mean they've had a good game. A player not scoring doesn't mean they've had a poor game. On the balance Richy was poor on Saturday, yes he scored but he also gave the ball away easily multiple times, he also had little to no impact on the general attacking play, no key passes, no linking up and poor shots in gerneral when he took them. A goal might absolve all of that for you, but sorry for me it does not.

I want a complete performance and if he isn't capable of providing that I will always point it out. You might want to settle for mediocrity cool, do you but I don't.

Okay, you should send your notes to Frank! Frankly (waaaaayyyyy) I'm not interested, feedback from people desperately seeking faults isn't worth much in the grand scheme of it. Keep crying whenever Johnson and Richy get goals, we kind of need them for points unless we're hoping to draw 0-0, that's kind of capping our upper limit but if you're cool for settling, that's fine.
