Richarlison

I feel real sympathy for him, every time I've seen him play he looks desperate to succeed and a popular member of the team. I've read he's moody but I've found that's often a sign of frustration with your own ambitions. I hope to see him back as I think fit, in form and happy he's a great asset to the team.

Hope so too, was really striking up a partner ship with Johnson last season, getting on the end his crosses into the box. Not had that since really.

He also like to sit between the two CB's pinning them back , which a lot of people under estimated last season. When Son and Kulu play up front they are wondering all over the place, looking for the ball and it doesn't really help and the CB's have an easier time of it and we find it harder to open teams up.

Veliz is the same type of player as well, sits around the CB's looking and working space.

solanke is proving to be more mobile and stronger physically, keeping his balance and seldom falling to the ground - i think its going to be hard for richarlison to win over the fans now.

its great we have a proven striker as back up though.

Rich's best form for Everton was when he was playing off the left. Shame he can't seem to stay fit. Him, Solanke and Johnson would be a really efficient front three in terms of pressing and occupying the defence.

Played some of his best stuff for us from the left too.

My thoughts as well, he has had some awful bad luck with injurys but he has shown when he has been fit he is a important player for us.

since solanke arrived, richarlison has to fight for his place. been too long since he played a competitive game and will take time to reach peak fitness. hopefully he is stronger now and won't fall down so often.

The club should hold him back until he is 100%.

Will be good to have him back. Solanke has done really well, but we need that extra option. Particularly with others injured too and a lot of games.

Hope he returns to good fitness fairly quickly.

I want to see what the RSJ frontline looks like. I think it might be our most effective line-up this year.
Will be interesting to see if we get to see that much.

I remain somewhat sceptical of Richarlison on the left in this system. While he offers more physicality and hold up play than Son he has some of the same limitations as Son. From the left both are better coming inside, not really much in terms of being touchline hugging wingers.

Personally I'm more excited to see Odobert getting more game time wide when fit than Richarlison. Think he offers us more of what we're otherwise short of. (Not saying that would be our best lineup).

And also think Son overall offers more in that left wing role than Richarlison.

Will be interesting to see how Ange sees this.

It will depend on the opponent. Son is strong attacking higher lines and getting behind them. Whereas Richarlison adds much more menace and physicality in the box if we are up against a deeper line.

I obviously love Son, but I don't like Son and Johnson as a pair (they are a bit too similar).

Son and Johnson aren't similar. Johnson will go down the line and get a cross in, Son will come inside the majority of the time.

Tbf, from a physicality point of view, Son and Johnson could be said to be similar (in that they aren't the types to rough up defenders or actively thrive directly against very physical defenders). I assume that's the point @Gutter Boy was making...

I mean in the sense that they thrive at running behind teams into open space. Neither really do well dribbling against set defenders. They are direct wide players, rather than indirect ones (like Odobert say is). The best attacks have a direct vs indirect balance (perhaps one on either side)

We never really play against high lines though
And son and Johnson are not alike at all
One plays wide and crosses, the other doesn’t

With how awful the left wing has been, Richi can play there. He played well there for us last season when he played there.

I wouldn't be upset with Richi --- Solanke --- Johnson as front three, especially if Moore is only going to be given sub time for now.
