Richarlison

You have to feel bad for the guy.

It seems that he managed 38 PL appearances (starts and sub) in his Watford season. Then 3 seasons of 34-36 games range followed by the next 3 seasons in the 27-30 range across Everton and Spurs.

He seems to have knee, calf and hamstring injuries. Can't really tell whether they're repeat injuries on the same leg though.

In all seriousness, if he managed to stay fit I guess i wouldn't mind him staying. However I do feel maybe we should get someone else. Unlikely I know cos other than Saudi, who would buy him at the price we did. And he already said he ain't going there. But something needs to be done.

Everton may take him back

At the end of this season, Richarlison enters the last 2 years of his current contract. He's currently 27, and 28 in May.

We would have amortised 3/5 of the massive transfer fee but would still probably want £25-30m for him.

We need Richi to finish this season well either way.

I’d be happy of he can play in half our games in one way or another
I backed him loads last year because he got fit, but I’ve also highlighted repeatedly that he has a bad injury record. It wasn’t good at Everton in reality
I think he suffers from never being fit enough. His injury this week came from stretching to get that cross in. If he had more games Uber this belt I doubt that injury occurs.
I like him but he hasn’t got the skill to play wide imo and as a CF option he won’t get minutes to ever get fit as it stands
Our football is also physically more demanding than anything he or others would have experienced

You would get that kind of money for him, strikers will always have someone willing to take a risk.

Our challenge is we can't depend on him for a run of 10 games, so while he's useful as rotation, hard to seriously think of him as backup.

It's a shame, I like him and if he could stay fit, he could have been out number 9 for a few years. I really like the fella, but he is just not reliable enough for us.

I would except any offer for him to be honest now.

He needs to prove his fitness this year, else we will be shipping him out.
Some team in Turkey would love him, I reckon, so it is a shame he can't play later today.

i know i sound heartless but enough is enough.

we've got a good team now and let's learn from our situation from the poch era that progress in the team is needed to keep up the momentum and increasing standards for players.

we need to use our financials and quota purposefully if we want to win anything eventually.

If it helps to offset the costs for a player like eze, it might pay off with a return to champions league. If we get a couple of younger players, they can understudy son and solanke.

sell richy, send him off with fond memories and lets get the next better (fitter) player(s) in a key position ASAP.

I see, ndombele, lo celso, sanchez, hojberg doing better after leaving, win-win for everyone.

I dont think we'd get a buyer for him. No-one in Europe could afford him, he wont go to saudi, and what are his options in England? Maybe Man U?

Wouldn’t his fee next summer - taking amortisation into account - be around £20-£24m? He’s surely worth that to someone.

He's not worth much to us or any team if he cannot stay fit.

The frustration is that he's the perfect profile for competition / back up in terms of his attributes and mentality in every other way than actually being available, which is a rather big deal. Without raking through the stats, he seemed relatively free of injury problems at Watford and Everton, cursing bad luck doesn't get us anywhere neither does speculating about our medical team but it's an odd one. In everything Ange does it seems clear that he rates Richarlison highly, fortunately not being as blinkered as some less informed onlookers but with the contract as it is eventually a decision will have to be made - Ideally it'll be an extension after proof that he can remain fit, as otherwise we start fresh with integrating another new signing alongside the many others that are still getting settled.

What is funny is the fan's desperate desire to not have any competition in the squad, as soon as we buy big Dom it's "Well we're obviously going to sell Richy". Similar with Maddison, one game on the bench after the emergence of Kulu and the talk of the town is that we suddenly need to sell Maddison. It's incredibly short term thinking.

That still limits you to probably EPL, Bayern and PSG.

Italian and Spanish clubs dont pay fees any more, they just loan in until players become free agents.

If the medical data shows its bad luck, not a chronic condition, id def keep him.

It gives us more time to develop Lankshear and Veliz as successors too.

I really wish we could get him consistently fit, at present he is of no use to us, we have the continual situation of him getting an injury and being out for 5/8 games returning to squad and picking up an other injury and the cycle repeating its self. I think he's such a dynamic type of player he cannot be easied back to full fitness and the leap from training to PL is too much for his body. Maybe a loan abroad in January might help him rebuild his body and confidence but then we would lose control of his rehabilitation, it's a big problem for him and us. We need the player we signed from Everton.

Alvarez, luiz, olmo, endrick, koopmeiners, gallagher... from this summer alone went for more than €40m.

Not as often as it used to happen. But still does.
