I think there are multiple reasons. Firstly, we have cash, so don't need to sell and buy at the same time. Secondly, the market has definitely changed. There are more transfers happening early than Previous years, and I think one reason is the new financial fair play regulations. A lot of clubs need to sell, and many have cash to spend. This wasnt the case during the pandemic. Our transfer activity this June has left me think WTF were we doing in previous seasons? It’s great and makes a refreshing change but if only more urgency had been applied in previous seasons.
No idea if true but amusing if they tried to hijack our deal and failed, but succeeded in hijacking the gooner attempt to get Raphinha.

I love to have our own cnutsI think this is a tremendously exciting acquisition. He has a bit of that “nasty fudger” about him. Romero has it, Lamela has it - that kind of no nonsense wind you up attitude. I love it when our players have that.

Think I’d class it as a shamelessness.
(not judging)
Said it when we were first linked, will say it again. Great signing. Young, proven Premier League quality. Yeah he's a brickhouse and rolls around too much but he's so much better than the other forwards we've brought in in recent years to play back up/compliment Son and Kane. A lot of us were big fans of Vinicius who was the best of that motley crue. Richarlison is a couple of levels above him.
Well done the club. This is almost like when the Dippers brought in Jota. Not yet at the level to be an automatic starter but certainly very close and he will only get better.
Which is going to get hijacked by Barca. The transfer that keeps on giving.

Just to add to this, we also have CL and Conte. This makes it much easier to get the players we want. We're a club that (finally!) has financial clout and is probably perceived as here to stay. Some might say that we had CL and performed very well in the Poch years, but back then I don't think we were regarded in the same light. It felt more like a purple patch that we would be hard pressed to maintain. Now it's clear that our rise is going to be sustainable and that makes us a much more attractive proposition.Absolutely this.
We also have a manager and DoF who seem to be in sync. And we have a DoF.
I also think Conte is a fairly "easy" manager in some ways, as long as you have money. Demanding, knows what he wants, very unhappy if he doesn't get it. But at the same time easy. I don't think he's a manager that needs or wants very specific players to make his system work.
The list of attributes he wants in different positions/roles makes for a pretty decent list of potential targets I think. And he knows very well what those attributes are.
We were basically meant to rise and end up where we are today. CL participantsJust to add to this, we also have CL and Conte. This makes it much easier to get the players we want.
