Rathering intereting news story i thought some of you should read

Im still waiting for the bbc to broadcast that the IMF have upgraded our countries prospects and the surveys that people do not believe cuts to services have caused those services to get worse.

The BBC is worse then fox news for bias, difference is if i was in America i could watch t.v. without paying into fox news and not be breaking the law, sadly in this country i have to pay into the BBC or i am breaking the law if i want to watch non BBC t.v. shows. There are a lot who do not wish to believe anything if it is printed in the mail or other so called right wing papers.

Well im afraid im the same of the BBC the company that is run by people of a certain political ilk and who promote others of the same political mindset. The BBC will only ever run a story if it furthers the needs of the left.

You might not believe it, but you have be to aware of the possibility.

I couldn't honestly see the difference between an English family of three with one working parent and a Migrant family of three with one working parent and two 'non active' members.

They would have the same affect upon the country. Both articles are not worth the time of forming an opinion, as they display very little of the actual facts.

Also maybe the best thing to with a rising welfare state that even labour have said needs to be addressed perhaps it would be best if we tried to attract just net contributors.

For me all the arguments for a smaller welfare state are purely economical and not driven by any ideology well maybe thatcherism.

The reality on the street when I lived in North London and knew a wider group from abroad was that many came to Britain precisely for Benefits Tourism. They came here because within their own countries there was no system offering what ours would offer them and because the rules within their own countries were far stricter for the little support that was available. I've watched people laugh at how they were living in a lovely 1 bed flat in Camden while I being English was working and living in a veritable ****hole in Finsbury Park.*

*partly my fault. :-"

AS EVER. The truth lies somewhere between all the hopelessly polarised right and left wing arguments. Yes there is a problem and anyone exaggerating it or pretending there isn't one can **** off out of Britain so we can continue to make progress on the issues. Under the embarrassment of a champagne socialist Government if you can call it that a climate was cleverly crafter where we were unable to talk about the biggest failings of that Government. You couldn't suggest that the Boom was all false and built on unmanageable debt and you couldn't talk about rampant failed immigration because you were a racist. Now we see the reality. I mean for ****s sake this same shower of qunts came into power and the first thing they did was try to bandy the word 'millionaire' about to demonise most of the people who drive our economy.

Capitalism alas demands year on year growth and our planet isn't growing and neither are its resources. The only thing that is growing is our population.

Simple maths. Simple problems requiring much sterner laws to protect our 'future' way of life.

I wasn't really backing either side of the argument, just saw the comment in that news story and remembered Chich's thread on here.

I've no idea whatsoever if that's a large problem tbh, seems a bit of an issue that the government appears to be struggling to show what sort of issue it is too.

What setups do they have for health care in the other major European nations?

You might not believe it, but you have be to aware of the possibility.

Sure the is the possibility, is the possibility that the mail and the other right wing papers are right?................just like they were about the euro.

Being right about one thing doesn't make them more likely to be right about the next.

Yes, there is the possibility it is true. The evidence is inconclusive to I am gong to ignore them both.

Again this is from a right wing paper but i think it is a well thought out piece and uses facts to back up its claims. Now i might sound like im banging on about this but i do believe it is an issue.

The biggest issue for me though now is the pension age and how i believe it should be rising straight away becaus several governments have ignored the rising life expectancy. I mentioned this to my local MP who looked at me like i was a nut job, he asked why would a guy in his 50's (cheeky ****er im just under) want the pension age to rise. But it is sound economics.

Sticking head in sand?

Well it is all well and fine waiting for inconclusive evidence and wish we had done that with the Iraq war but i do not believe you can ignore important issues.

The left has an important part to play in our society and because of left wing parties the has been an improvement in aspects of social care and of people getting on and moving up in life but i do not think people should be turning a blind eye to what is happening now in this country even labour MP kate hoey wass saying similar recently about how her local area had a problem with health toursim and it was causing problems for the local A & E.

Sticking head in sand?

No, not really. Just not taking a side based on a clearly incomplete article.

When I have time I'll look for more information on the matter. If I was the one to be making the policy then sure I would have to make my conclusions with a deadline. However I am not, so I can make my decision when I feel like I have enough information to do so..

All these articles do is appeal to those who share the same views to start shouting about how their side is right.

Well the might be a reason why you could not draw any conclusions from the report, maybe because the authors wanted that as they received EU contracts worth 70million pounds over 6 years.

Showing that our membership of the EU has to be the biggest problem facing this country.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/10375358/True-scale-of-European-immigration.html

"More than 600,000 unemployed European Union migrants are living in Britain"

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-24522653

"Fewer than 38,000 were claiming Jobseeker's Allowance"

"Nearly two-thirds of economically inactive EU migrants have previously worked in their current country of residence (64%)"

"EU migrants are on average more likely to be in employment than local people"

It is not just about jobseekers allowance and if one thing we can be certain of it is that the BBC really can not be trusted.

As I always say when these threads pop up, why not just ship out all the British people that don't want to work?

Tell them all that they won't be forced to work in France, give them a free passport and Eurostar ticket, problem solved.

Yep,good thinking, because for capitalism to flourish some level of unemployment is not required or anything is it ? You right wing ****er.

that kinda touches on something that annoys me a lot, people get so angry about immigration yet completely forget that the option is there to emigrate, if I could make more money working in another country i'd be gone tomorrow

But is this really true? I have had opportunities to go abroad and work, but for family reasons haven't wanted to... being close to elderly parents in law is important to me... why should I have to leave the country to get away from the place I call home? Emigration is not an option for me and should be a worry to the rest of the UK if more people like me do see it as an option.
I pay a lot of tax into this country's coffers, I have never claimed dole, I have never claimed a benefit... about 50% of my income goes in tax and national insurance. If more people like me leave, then there'll be a damn sight less tax take in this country to support the benefits culture 'rights movement' that has emerged in the UK in the last 20 years.
Like JGL I feel I have a right to question whether the impact of the EU and benefit tourism is good for UK PLC... my feeling is that on the whole it sucks... and, on the whole the Biased Broadcasting Company do not tell the masses 'news' that does not fit with their broadly socialist agenda.
