Radu Drăgușin

Get well soon, Radu. Thanks for playing through pain and good luck finding a club where your playing style is better suited.
That's a tough injury to suffer at his age.
Pretty bad news for us if there was a plan to move him on. I think we would have easily found a buyer probably for what we paid for him it more.

Probably won't be back for a summer transfer and will obviously need to prove his fitness with us before anyone would be interested.

Sounds like you see all players as just a piece of meat, a barcode, a random outcome of DNA, a transfer fee, etc.
It's like golddiggers fighting over the will when they just found out the old sugardaddy has 2 months to go.

He doesn't need to prove anything to you I think.

I actually think what Ricky said is fair.

Dragu is one of the good guys in the game (like Emerson Royal) but his aspirations probably would have led to a convergence of player and club minds coming together over the summer if we haven't secured UEFA football. There's a major international tournament at the end of next season and I'm sure Dragu would want to be playing.

It's not about treating players like commodities. More establishing the right quid pro quo with them.

I just hope he has a great recovery so can be involved in some part of the pre-season. I guess that might be unlikely though.

It doesnt work like that with these im afraid. They have to pin a new ligament in place. It's 6 months absolute minimum, with 9 more normal. There's no way to speed up recovery, like you can with some other injuries.

That’s all about the pitch
The slope on that side is sharp and the grass part is only about 2ft
We had a great view of it and it just looked as bad as it is

Remember a few people raised concerns about that slope beside the pitch during construction of new stadium and looks like there was some justification after all.

Best seats we have ever had because my ST in the south but for the cup games we move

Not really.

You wrote one sentence about Dragusin. Then several sentences on how this impacts the club in your opinion. That was then seen as being the totality of your thoughts and feelings on the situation, which it seems rather obvious to me it isn't.
You'll have to explain further...I can't make sense of your reply.

The other poster went off on a tirade of various accusations that I think were rooted in (and I'm only guessing judging
by his username) him being a fellow Romanian.

Essentially I think we're in agreement.

Your post focused on the consequences of this for the club, yes?

I think that was taken as you not caring about the player and the consequences for him. Inaccurately so I think (based on my experience of talking to you on here). Leading to accusations about you not caring about the player in a rather harsh way. I would guess too nationality comes into it. But I think it also stems from a misreading of your post.

Ah ok. Perhaps there was a little 'too soon' element to it and bit too focused on what it meant for the club (archive my original post until July, it'll probably be more relevant then).

I feel for Radu as its a lengthy layoff at an important time in his career (whether that's with us or someone else) but it's a common football injury. If it was an Antonio at West Ham or David Busst situation then 100% I'm thinking of the players wellbeing. I'd be mortified tbh.

I think it's easy to forget that Dragusin is still a youngster -- 22 being very young for a top CB. His ability, confidence and attitude make him seem much more established than he is, which is a huge positive. While he's never going to be Beckenbauer, he has plenty of time to develop his game.

So it's a real pity he's had such a serious injury. I really hope he recovers well, and fully, and either comes back as our go-to defensive cover or finds himself a good transfer.

Thought he had just jarred it looking down from west upper on the night.

Very sorry to hear this - best wishes for him.

ACLs are nearly always done landing slightly off balance from headers. I did mine once upon a time very similarly to that. It's the innocuous looking ones that tend to turn out worse, rarely the big horror tackles.

Quite a lot to unpack there.
I think it's quite simple really, like I said, treating people like a barcode. But I guess this is what is considered normal these days, everything is about money. Kind of inhumane I would add, that's what tinkles me off.

Rethorical question. If you treat people like commodities, but you expect 100%, loyalty and sacrifice in return for the club, what does that say about you?

And no, it's not just about being Romanian, of course that matters too. I saw the same comments by some people about Bentancur when the guy was close to seizing to death.

I guess I'm glad my club doesn't have the money then. Modern money football, no thanks for me. I miss the old PL days.
